00:00:00.017 --> 00:00:03.837
Hello, and welcome back to the Diary of a Black Corneland podcast.

00:00:04.237 --> 00:00:08.277
I'm your host, Connie Morris, and today we're diving into the final episode

00:00:08.277 --> 00:00:13.617
in our series, Breaking the Deceit, Walking in Spiritual Vigilance.

00:00:13.877 --> 00:00:17.997
This episode is called Sowing Righteousness and Reaping Truth.

00:00:18.457 --> 00:00:23.077
We'll explore the biblical principle of sowing and reaping and how the seeds

00:00:23.077 --> 00:00:28.437
we plant in our spiritual lives directly impact our walk with God.

00:00:28.437 --> 00:00:32.177
The principle of sowing and reaping.

00:00:32.377 --> 00:00:40.257
Let's start with this powerful scripture from Galatians 6, 7 through 8. Do not be deceived.

00:00:40.577 --> 00:00:44.557
God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows.

00:00:44.897 --> 00:00:51.297
Whoever sows to please the flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction.

00:00:51.737 --> 00:00:56.557
Whoever sows to please the spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.

00:00:56.837 --> 00:01:01.557
This verse is a sobering reminder that our actions have consequences.

00:01:01.817 --> 00:01:06.577
If we sow seeds of righteousness, obedience, faithfulness, and love,

00:01:06.737 --> 00:01:09.897
we will reap the blessings of God's promises.

00:01:10.177 --> 00:01:16.877
But if we sow to the flesh selfishness, sin, and deceit, we will face spiritual decay.

00:01:17.746 --> 00:01:25.946
Sowing is a daily act. Every thought, word, and deed is a seed planted in the soil of our life.

00:01:26.826 --> 00:01:30.206
Sowing righteousness is in a world of deception.

00:01:30.426 --> 00:01:34.446
So how do you continue? Like here in Galatians 6, 7, it says,

00:01:35.146 --> 00:01:37.466
If you sow in the flesh, you reap corruption.

00:01:37.466 --> 00:01:43.586
But if you sow in the spirit, you reap eternal life. So everything that we do

00:01:43.586 --> 00:01:49.466
has a reaction, whether it's a positive or a negative.

00:01:49.726 --> 00:01:52.726
So I will say, don't get it twisted.

00:01:53.346 --> 00:01:59.046
Understanding that everything you do, you're sowing something in the flesh or

00:01:59.046 --> 00:02:02.706
you're sowing something in the spirit.

00:02:03.486 --> 00:02:07.326
And so we live in a world where rewards, shortcuts, and compromises.

00:02:07.326 --> 00:02:13.526
But God calls us to sow seeds of righteousness even when it is hard.

00:02:13.786 --> 00:02:20.726
Hosea 10, 12 reads, sow righteousness for yourselves, reap the fruit of unfailing

00:02:20.726 --> 00:02:24.286
love, and break up your unplowed ground.

00:02:24.286 --> 00:02:30.706
For it's time to seek the Lord until he comes and showers his righteousness on you.

00:02:30.706 --> 00:02:38.226
So righteousness for yourself, reap the fruit of unfailing love and break up

00:02:38.226 --> 00:02:44.386
your unplowed ground for it's time to seek the Lord until he comes and showers

00:02:44.386 --> 00:02:46.126
his righteousness on you.

00:02:46.286 --> 00:02:51.786
It says until he comes. So it might not be automatic, folks.

00:02:52.566 --> 00:02:59.346
Right. You seek the Lord until he comes. Hosea 10, 12.

00:03:00.366 --> 00:03:04.166
It says, So righteousness means to live in alignment with God's will.

00:03:04.386 --> 00:03:09.066
Even when it feels inconvenient, it means breaking up the hard,

00:03:09.286 --> 00:03:16.626
unplowed ground in our lives, areas where we've grown complacent or resistant to God's leading.

00:03:17.486 --> 00:03:24.646
Take a pause on that. Where have we just kind of stopped believing or just grown complacent?

00:03:24.746 --> 00:03:28.966
Like we just got stuck. We're just not going to, God hasn't answered our prayer,

00:03:28.986 --> 00:03:30.446
so we're not going to ask anymore.

00:03:30.606 --> 00:03:33.826
We're just grown complacent or lazy. We just stopped.

00:03:34.306 --> 00:03:37.506
We stopped. We used to have a regular routine of reading our Bible. We stopped.

00:03:38.515 --> 00:03:42.055
Regular routine of praying, we stop. Going to church, we just stop.

00:03:42.195 --> 00:03:44.335
Tithing and giving offering, we just stop.

00:03:44.775 --> 00:03:49.615
We also got an excuse for it, but we have grown complacent in seeking God,

00:03:50.315 --> 00:03:53.235
seeking his righteousness, seeking his leading in things.

00:03:53.435 --> 00:03:58.235
We stop even asking him, what should we do in this? We just start running ahead of him.

00:03:58.635 --> 00:04:01.475
So what kind of seeds are you sowing in your daily life?

00:04:01.975 --> 00:04:04.155
Are they pleasing to God?

00:04:04.895 --> 00:04:08.795
Weeping the fruit of truth. When we sow seeds of righteousness,

00:04:08.835 --> 00:04:15.435
we position ourselves to reap the fruit of truth, peace, joy, and spiritual growth.

00:04:15.835 --> 00:04:19.555
Let's look at another scripture, Galatians 6, 9.

00:04:19.755 --> 00:04:25.475
It tells us here, we just talked about complacency. Let's see what God feels about complacency.

00:04:25.595 --> 00:04:31.355
He says, let us not become weary in doing good. For at the proper time,

00:04:31.415 --> 00:04:35.815
we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.

00:04:36.455 --> 00:04:41.355
Wow. Let us not grow weary in doing good.

00:04:41.575 --> 00:04:45.515
I remember I had this, I was at this point of growing weary.

00:04:45.795 --> 00:04:52.275
I was in the middle of like, just kind of in this area where I'm believing God for something.

00:04:52.535 --> 00:04:57.015
And I know I'm praying and I have a consistent prayer life, but I'm not getting

00:04:57.015 --> 00:04:59.035
any answers. I'm getting a lot of dreams.

00:04:59.335 --> 00:05:02.935
I'm getting a lot of information. I remember one time I had this dream.

00:05:03.195 --> 00:05:08.935
And I remember seeing God put on a watch in my dream.

00:05:09.055 --> 00:05:11.815
It's a beautiful Rolex watch.

00:05:11.955 --> 00:05:15.095
I didn't know it was a Rolex watch until I woke up and I researched it,

00:05:15.195 --> 00:05:18.055
but it's called a rainbow Rolex watch.

00:05:18.175 --> 00:05:21.255
The watch was absolutely beautiful in my dream.

00:05:21.415 --> 00:05:24.895
And he put the watch on my wrist.

00:05:26.355 --> 00:05:29.135
And I didn't quite understand why he put that

00:05:29.135 --> 00:05:32.615
beautiful watch on my wrist and the watch when

00:05:32.615 --> 00:05:35.435
you it's a color rainbow Rolex it has all these

00:05:35.435 --> 00:05:39.155
beautiful diamonds on it it was just absolutely beautiful and it

00:05:39.155 --> 00:05:44.435
was more about God's timing like God's timing is perfect and it was more about

00:05:44.435 --> 00:05:51.815
him telling me that my timing is perfect and the more I got anxious about like

00:05:51.815 --> 00:05:55.555
want to get ahead of God or want God to move fast in certain areas.

00:05:55.675 --> 00:06:03.855
I'll just remember this dream that I had about this watch, about how God's timing is always perfect.

00:06:04.115 --> 00:06:07.795
And I didn't grow weary. That was something that really encouraged me,

00:06:08.095 --> 00:06:10.335
that don't become weary.

00:06:10.575 --> 00:06:16.495
God has perfect timing when he wants to bring about his perfect plan for your life.

00:06:16.595 --> 00:06:19.815
But during that time, it could be long, people.

00:06:19.955 --> 00:06:25.115
It can be a long time. And, but we can grow weary. We can grow complacent.

00:06:25.215 --> 00:06:31.135
We can give up. But here in Galatians 6, 9, it says, for at the proper time.

00:06:31.970 --> 00:06:39.550
We will reap if we do not give up. So there's a point where you will not reap if you give up.

00:06:39.950 --> 00:06:44.210
And so let's keep going. This is God's promise. If we remain faithful,

00:06:44.210 --> 00:06:46.570
we will see the fruit of our labor.

00:06:46.810 --> 00:06:52.890
It might not come immediately, but in his perfect timing, the harvest will come.

00:06:52.890 --> 00:06:56.410
I just believe that even as you continue to seek him,

00:06:56.890 --> 00:07:08.050
he gives you little crumbs along the way throughout my waiting for him to answer

00:07:08.050 --> 00:07:11.270
different prayers that were dreams that he gave me.

00:07:11.270 --> 00:07:16.770
He broke me up, singing over me in different dreams and showing me different

00:07:16.770 --> 00:07:23.330
strategies, just different things that was going on around me as I waited for him.

00:07:23.610 --> 00:07:27.990
And so never, ever stop seeking the Lord during the wait.

00:07:28.330 --> 00:07:32.270
Yes, it can be long. Yes, it can be long.

00:07:32.470 --> 00:07:36.330
But when he gave me that watch and I said, what kind of watch is that?

00:07:36.450 --> 00:07:40.430
And I was describing it. You know, I was like, I was trying to,

00:07:40.610 --> 00:07:42.230
you know, you kind of described it.

00:07:42.290 --> 00:07:44.930
And I just got on AI because I said, this was a watch.

00:07:45.070 --> 00:07:49.270
It was this and that. And there was no other watch that was created like that.

00:07:49.370 --> 00:07:51.890
It was a Rolex watch. It was a time piece.

00:07:52.070 --> 00:07:54.470
They don't create a lot of those different watches.

00:07:55.870 --> 00:08:00.610
So it was just beautiful. It was absolutely beautiful. And I had a picture of it.

00:08:00.690 --> 00:08:05.370
I created on one of my covers of my devotional and made it a devotional about

00:08:05.370 --> 00:08:13.050
waiting for God. Each of those colors and that something just gave me a chance to just seek him for him.

00:08:13.410 --> 00:08:17.810
I mean, it wasn't, like God doesn't give you cheap stuff.

00:08:18.290 --> 00:08:24.090
Even in your dream, he's just the king of kings and the Lord of lords.

00:08:24.230 --> 00:08:30.890
Think about that, that he gives you in your dream a priceless watch.

00:08:31.390 --> 00:08:35.970
And I just, always when I think about it, I just touch my wrist and I go like,

00:08:36.030 --> 00:08:38.090
wow, I watch is absolutely beautiful.

00:08:38.730 --> 00:08:44.410
And so how do we practice steps for sowing righteousness? Some of this we know.

00:08:44.730 --> 00:08:49.030
And so it's just going to be just a reminder, a refresher.

00:08:49.370 --> 00:08:51.850
Number one, we spend time in God's word.

00:08:52.410 --> 00:08:56.210
Your word is a lamp unto my feet and light unto my path. You should memorize

00:08:56.210 --> 00:08:59.350
that. That's the scripture for this devotional.

00:08:59.650 --> 00:09:02.070
Psalms 119, 105.

00:09:02.610 --> 00:09:07.470
The word of God is a seed that grows righteousness in our heart.

00:09:07.690 --> 00:09:13.090
We know the word of God is a lamp. It lights us up on the inside.

00:09:13.350 --> 00:09:16.850
Why? It lights us up with truth, with hope, with faith.

00:09:18.090 --> 00:09:22.750
Live in obedience. If you love me, keep my commandments, John 14, 15.

00:09:23.350 --> 00:09:27.930
Obedience to God's will is an act of planting seeds that honor him.

00:09:28.856 --> 00:09:31.956
Obedience, speak the words of life.

00:09:32.356 --> 00:09:37.536
Tongue has a power of life and death, and those who love it will eat of its fruit.

00:09:37.896 --> 00:09:42.976
Proverbs 18, 21, words are seized, speak truth, encouragement,

00:09:43.276 --> 00:09:49.176
and love into your life and the lives of others. So watch what you say.

00:09:49.576 --> 00:09:52.716
Watch what you say, because you'll have what you say.

00:09:53.136 --> 00:09:57.336
You will have what you say. You speak in life or you speak in death.

00:09:57.556 --> 00:10:01.096
What do you want? If you see death coming, you better stop.

00:10:01.716 --> 00:10:06.676
God is a God of life and light. And so you want to speak truth,

00:10:06.876 --> 00:10:08.316
encouragement, and love.

00:10:08.936 --> 00:10:13.676
So let's do some decrees for sowing and reaping. Let's line our hearts with

00:10:13.676 --> 00:10:15.596
God's action and God's principles.

00:10:15.976 --> 00:10:18.476
Ready? I decree that I sow seeds

00:10:18.476 --> 00:10:23.316
of righteousness and reap the fruits of truth in every area of my life.

00:10:23.476 --> 00:10:30.796
I decree that the Spirit guides my action and I reject seeds of deception and sin.

00:10:31.296 --> 00:10:36.716
I decree that I will not grow weary in well-doing, for I will reap a harvest

00:10:36.716 --> 00:10:41.316
in God's perfect timing, in his Rolex timing.

00:10:41.936 --> 00:10:46.136
Take the time this week to evaluate the seeds you're sowing in your life.

00:10:46.336 --> 00:10:49.936
Are they leading you closer to God or pulling you away from him?

00:10:50.316 --> 00:10:57.236
Write down one area where you want to plant seeds of righteousness and commit it to prayer.

00:10:57.856 --> 00:11:01.656
Be intentional about sowing seeds that align with God's will,

00:11:01.916 --> 00:11:06.436
whether it's a kind word, active service, spend time in prayer,

00:11:06.956 --> 00:11:12.616
maybe write some decrees, you know, special time with him. Every seed matters.

00:11:12.916 --> 00:11:17.936
And if you've been sowing a lot of seed in the flesh, it's going to take a lot

00:11:17.936 --> 00:11:21.776
of seeds in the spirit to get that balanced out. So remember that.

00:11:22.216 --> 00:11:26.196
So let's close out in prayer. Heavenly Father, thank you for teaching us the

00:11:26.196 --> 00:11:27.856
importance of sowing and reaping.

00:11:28.056 --> 00:11:33.036
Help us to plant seeds of righteousness in our thoughts, words, and actions.

00:11:33.356 --> 00:11:35.236
Keep us strength.

00:11:35.756 --> 00:11:41.996
Give us strength to persevere in doing good, even when the harvest feels far away.

00:11:42.276 --> 00:11:47.576
Thank you for your promise. Thank you for your promise that we will reap a harvest

00:11:47.576 --> 00:11:52.336
in due season in your perfect timing. In Jesus' name, amen.

00:11:53.116 --> 00:11:56.736
Thank you for joining me on this journey through breaking the deceit,

00:11:56.976 --> 00:11:58.896
walking in spiritual vigilance.
