00:00:00.017 --> 00:00:05.017
Hello, and welcome back to Diary of Black Women, the podcast where we dive deep

00:00:05.017 --> 00:00:09.537
into faith, life, and incredible ways God moves in our lives.

00:00:09.897 --> 00:00:13.657
I'm your host, Connie Morris, and I'm so glad that you are here with me today.

00:00:14.297 --> 00:00:21.597
We are in our final episode of Girl, God Got You, Stories of Unseen Miracles and Provision.

00:00:21.597 --> 00:00:29.957
We're going to continue with our final episode of today's episode.

00:00:30.597 --> 00:00:37.937
We're going to delve into Psalms to see how King David trusted in God's provision and protection.

00:00:38.757 --> 00:00:44.077
And even in his most challenging times, this will remind us that no matter how

00:00:44.077 --> 00:00:48.877
much we face or no matter what we face, face.

00:00:49.157 --> 00:00:56.297
God is faithful and his provisions is always on time. So settle in, grab your Bible.

00:00:56.617 --> 00:00:59.277
We'll be in Psalms 37 today.

00:01:00.157 --> 00:01:05.937
Keep it nearby. And let's explore how God's unseen miracles and provisions are

00:01:05.937 --> 00:01:08.237
at work in our lives today.

00:01:08.697 --> 00:01:13.457
So thank you so much for joining me today. So let's get started.

00:01:14.257 --> 00:01:20.997
So good. So good. So good. So Psalms 37 is really one of my favorite Psalms.

00:01:21.117 --> 00:01:28.677
When things get tight for me, I go to Psalms 37, Psalms 91. We know we always run a Psalm 91.

00:01:29.017 --> 00:01:32.417
So Psalms 37 and Psalms 91.

00:01:32.917 --> 00:01:39.137
Psalms 37 I like because it's very comforting, but also if you read it,

00:01:39.277 --> 00:01:42.197
it tells you what God would do to the enemies, right?

00:01:42.317 --> 00:01:45.997
You always want to know, Lord, what you're going to do to those enemies.

00:01:46.217 --> 00:01:48.937
But I don't know if we're going to cover that today, but today we're going to

00:01:48.937 --> 00:01:53.237
probably focus on his provision, his timing, his care for his righteousness,

00:01:53.877 --> 00:01:56.437
his support, his faithful provision.

00:01:56.937 --> 00:02:02.037
And we're going to just learn how to trust in God's timing and his faithful

00:02:02.037 --> 00:02:03.517
support for his righteous.

00:02:04.217 --> 00:02:11.157
So let's go. So in Psalms 37, David's filled with wisdom and counsel for those

00:02:11.157 --> 00:02:15.757
who are striving to live righteously in a world that seems unjust.

00:02:16.297 --> 00:02:21.717
This Psalm contrasts the fate of the wicked with the security of the righteous.

00:02:21.997 --> 00:02:25.957
So when you read it, you'll read it. It'll be like, this was going to happen

00:02:25.957 --> 00:02:27.977
to the bad. It's going to happen to the good.

00:02:28.197 --> 00:02:31.497
And when you're in one of those moods where you need to know what's going to

00:02:31.497 --> 00:02:35.037
happen to someone who did you wrong, this is one of those Psalms.

00:02:35.706 --> 00:02:40.906
And I think that's why I read it. I was in my day, I had some drama going on

00:02:40.906 --> 00:02:43.966
and the Lord gave me Psalms 37 and Psalms 91.

00:02:44.166 --> 00:02:50.586
Psalms 91 is very comforting, you know, but Psalms 37 is a fighting Psalms and

00:02:50.586 --> 00:02:55.106
it's very supportive in what God will do to your enemies, right?

00:02:55.226 --> 00:02:59.606
And so we want, and Psalm 91 has some fighting in it too, but Psalms 37,

00:02:59.606 --> 00:03:02.046
oh yeah, it's a long Psalms.

00:03:02.306 --> 00:03:09.626
So don't get me wrong, it's a long Psalms, but you read it and you can get your righteous anger going.

00:03:10.026 --> 00:03:13.466
And so I want to just get to Psalms 37.

00:03:14.026 --> 00:03:19.046
Okay. And it says throughout Psalms 37, we see a reoccurring theme.

00:03:19.246 --> 00:03:25.146
The righteous are called to trust in the Lord, to commit their ways to him and

00:03:25.146 --> 00:03:27.926
to delight in his commands.

00:03:28.146 --> 00:03:33.466
This Psalm assures us that God is faithful, that he sees our needs and that

00:03:33.466 --> 00:03:38.126
he will provide for those who live in accordance with his will.

00:03:38.426 --> 00:03:43.246
So let's take a closer look at these verses and these themes.

00:03:43.446 --> 00:03:49.506
So we see here, the key is that at least in all of, we talked about Abraham

00:03:49.506 --> 00:03:54.546
in episode one, episode two, we had Joseph, Episode three, we're Psalms 37.

00:03:55.046 --> 00:04:01.266
Psalm 37, the connection is that when we trust in God, then he is faithful and

00:04:01.266 --> 00:04:06.606
just to provide and give us and provide for us, right?

00:04:06.726 --> 00:04:10.526
And so he's always looking for that trust in him.

00:04:10.866 --> 00:04:19.506
You faithful to God, he is faithful to you, right? So let's go to Psalms 37, 1 verses 1 through 5.

00:04:19.626 --> 00:04:24.326
Like I said, I read them in groups, but just take time and read them.

00:04:24.966 --> 00:04:28.586
Yeah, read them. Just read Psalms 37.

00:04:29.006 --> 00:04:34.206
So Psalms 37, 1 through 5, it says, trusting in the Lord's provision.

00:04:34.506 --> 00:04:41.686
It says, do not fret because of those who are evil or be envious of those who do wrong.

00:04:41.966 --> 00:04:48.346
For like the grass, they will soon wither. Like green plants, they will soon die away.

00:04:48.726 --> 00:04:54.866
Trust in the Lord and do good. Dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture.

00:04:56.126 --> 00:05:00.666
Take delight in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart.

00:05:00.906 --> 00:05:02.786
Commit your way to the Lord.

00:05:03.366 --> 00:05:09.186
Trust in him and he will do this. You see this first set of Psalms, what is God asking us?

00:05:09.326 --> 00:05:16.966
He says here, fret not, but then he focused in, he says, trust in the Lord and do good.

00:05:17.426 --> 00:05:24.146
Take delight in the Lord, commit your way to the Lord and said, and he will do this.

00:05:24.306 --> 00:05:30.366
These verses remind us that our focus should not be on prosperity of the wicked,

00:05:30.666 --> 00:05:34.246
but rather on trusting in the Lord and doing good.

00:05:35.112 --> 00:05:40.632
These promises here is profound. If we delight in the Lord and commit our ways

00:05:40.632 --> 00:05:46.372
to him, he will provide for us, giving us the desires of our hearts.

00:05:46.712 --> 00:05:55.412
His passage encouraged us to this passage encouraged us to place our trust in God's provision,

00:05:55.412 --> 00:06:01.972
knowing that he is fully aware of our needs and in his faithfulness to meet them.

00:06:01.972 --> 00:06:06.532
I love this because it starts out with what you should be looking at.

00:06:06.732 --> 00:06:12.412
A lot of times right away when we're looking at it says, do not fret because

00:06:12.412 --> 00:06:18.032
of those who are evil or be envious of those who do wrong.

00:06:18.232 --> 00:06:22.572
And a lot of times when we're going to Psalms, I remember I went to Psalms,

00:06:22.752 --> 00:06:24.192
someone that did me wrong.

00:06:24.372 --> 00:06:27.572
And I said, whoa, and God has a verse for that.

00:06:27.932 --> 00:06:30.952
Come on now. God has a verse for that. And right away, he says,

00:06:31.092 --> 00:06:33.792
don't even look at what they're doing to you.

00:06:33.992 --> 00:06:37.952
Take your focus off of what they did to you. And then he says,

00:06:38.212 --> 00:06:40.772
swoop, swoop and put your focus on me.

00:06:41.432 --> 00:06:45.832
Keep your focus on me. Trust in the Lord and do good.

00:06:46.052 --> 00:06:50.712
He says, take delight in the Lord. It says, commit your way to the Lord.

00:06:51.212 --> 00:06:56.752
Trust in him and he will do it. So take your eyes off of what other people are

00:06:56.752 --> 00:07:00.452
doing, what the evil is doing, what they think they're getting away with it.

00:07:00.832 --> 00:07:04.352
I always say evil has a deadline. Their time is limited.

00:07:04.512 --> 00:07:11.072
So they're going to act up, but you keep your eye on the Lord and he will do this.

00:07:11.912 --> 00:07:16.532
It says, these verses remind us that our focus should not be on the prosperity of the wicked,

00:07:17.693 --> 00:07:24.633
but our eyes should be on the Lord. God is fully aware of what we need.

00:07:26.133 --> 00:07:31.733
He is fully aware of what we need. Trusting in the Lord involves more than just belief.

00:07:31.753 --> 00:07:39.793
It requires us to actively commit our ways to him, to live out our faith in

00:07:39.793 --> 00:07:45.073
tangible ways, and to find our joy in his presence.

00:07:45.453 --> 00:07:51.593
This kind of trust brings peace and security, even when the world around us

00:07:51.593 --> 00:07:53.673
is filled with uncertainty.

00:07:54.853 --> 00:07:59.853
And so no matter what's going on around you, you just have to block all that

00:07:59.853 --> 00:08:03.973
stuff out and just put your focus on the Lord.

00:08:04.173 --> 00:08:11.613
He tells you right away in verse 37, 1, fret not, fret not. Don't look at them.

00:08:11.773 --> 00:08:12.793
Don't care what they're doing.

00:08:13.213 --> 00:08:16.053
Just don't worry about them. Just focus on me.

00:08:16.373 --> 00:08:21.493
Just focus on me. Let's go to Psalms 37 verses 7 through 9.

00:08:22.173 --> 00:08:27.113
And it says, Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him.

00:08:27.373 --> 00:08:30.733
Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him.

00:08:31.113 --> 00:08:37.193
Do not fret when people succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes.

00:08:37.913 --> 00:08:43.673
Refrain from anger and turn from wrath. Do not fret, it leads only to evil.

00:08:43.873 --> 00:08:51.193
For those who are evil will be destroyed, but those who hope in the Lord will inherit the land.

00:08:52.505 --> 00:08:56.585
Those who hope in the Lord will inherit the land.

00:08:56.905 --> 00:09:02.365
These verses emphasize the importance of patience and trust in God's timing.

00:09:02.645 --> 00:09:10.565
In a world where it's easy to become frustrated or disheartened by the success of those who do wrong,

00:09:11.105 --> 00:09:17.865
Psalms 37 encourages us to be still before the Lord and wait patiently for his justice and provision.

00:09:18.865 --> 00:09:25.425
Anger and worry only leads to more harm, but those who place their hope in the

00:09:25.425 --> 00:09:28.725
Lord are promised a lasting inheritance.

00:09:29.165 --> 00:09:31.565
This passage teaches us to focus

00:09:31.565 --> 00:09:36.745
on God's eternal promises rather than the fleeting successes of others.

00:09:37.025 --> 00:09:42.565
By trusting in God's timing, we can rest assured that he will bring about what

00:09:42.565 --> 00:09:44.945
is right and just in perfect timing.

00:09:44.945 --> 00:09:50.205
And what I realized in this is that, you know, as Christians,

00:09:50.265 --> 00:09:56.705
we always seem like we're like a day late. You ever notice that? Like we're a day late.

00:09:57.885 --> 00:10:05.485
People are prospering around us and we're like a day late. We seem like we're struggling.

00:10:05.725 --> 00:10:11.665
We don't have it going on. But then a time comes, and I think it's the season

00:10:11.665 --> 00:10:17.605
that we're in now, where the evil has reached an end.

00:10:17.965 --> 00:10:23.565
Evil has reached an end. The stuff that we thought we wanted and the people

00:10:23.565 --> 00:10:30.305
who we had probably put by accident, like, wow, we like this style, we like what they wear.

00:10:30.545 --> 00:10:33.705
We didn't know what they were doing behind these closed doors,

00:10:33.705 --> 00:10:39.025
right? We didn't know the evil that was being stirred up behind these closed doors.

00:10:39.225 --> 00:10:44.965
We didn't know what these stars were selling their soul out for to be in these positions.

00:10:45.405 --> 00:10:51.125
But we as Christians, we kept praying and fasting, doing what God would have us to do.

00:10:51.956 --> 00:10:56.916
You know, wanting the best, but not willing to sell our sold off for the best.

00:10:57.056 --> 00:11:03.376
And now we're seeing what even in the churches, even in every industry is,

00:11:03.496 --> 00:11:05.056
is got some exposure going on.

00:11:05.456 --> 00:11:11.236
But those who keep their eyes on the Lord, those that keep their eyes on the

00:11:11.236 --> 00:11:16.876
Lord, God said, we won't be ashamed that we will get double for our trouble.

00:11:17.076 --> 00:11:21.296
Right. And so we just got to keep our focus on the Lord because we're seeing

00:11:21.296 --> 00:11:26.116
some things that even in our lifetime that we didn't think that we would see,

00:11:26.296 --> 00:11:29.916
but God is showing us that as we focus on him,

00:11:30.436 --> 00:11:37.016
he's going to show us who was faking and shaking, who was real and who was not.

00:11:37.476 --> 00:11:40.856
You know, doesn't it make you focus more on him?

00:11:41.116 --> 00:11:43.656
You know, it's a little distracting because we're going like,

00:11:43.856 --> 00:11:45.696
dang, We didn't know. We didn't know.

00:11:45.916 --> 00:11:51.136
You know, I had to clean out my library with some of these books of other pastors that have failed.

00:11:51.276 --> 00:11:54.536
I was like, you know, a little leaven leavens the whole lump.

00:11:54.696 --> 00:12:00.236
So, sorry, I'm just going to go back to my basic foundational roots and just

00:12:00.236 --> 00:12:04.696
start from all over and refresh my spirit because, you know,

00:12:04.756 --> 00:12:07.336
I don't want to be left behind. Hello.

00:12:08.016 --> 00:12:13.636
Right. So let's go to Psalms 37, 18 to 19. The Lord's care for his righteousness.

00:12:14.396 --> 00:12:20.976
The blameless spend their days under the Lord's care, and their inheritance will endure forever.

00:12:21.316 --> 00:12:27.976
In times of disaster, they will not wither. In days of famine, they will enjoy plenty.

00:12:28.716 --> 00:12:33.156
Here we see the beautiful promise of God's provision for the righteous.

00:12:33.516 --> 00:12:38.296
Even in the times of disaster or famine, those who are blameless,

00:12:38.496 --> 00:12:43.316
those who live in accordance with God's ways, are assured of his care.

00:12:44.061 --> 00:12:47.141
This doesn't mean that the righteous will never face hardship,

00:12:47.501 --> 00:12:52.921
but rather that God will sustain them through every trial, providing that they

00:12:52.921 --> 00:12:56.021
will not only survive, but thrive.

00:12:56.881 --> 00:13:02.241
This passage is a reminder that God's care for us is constant.

00:13:02.241 --> 00:13:07.981
Even in the most difficult circumstances, our security is found not only in

00:13:07.981 --> 00:13:16.721
our circumstances, but in our relationship with the Lord.

00:13:17.341 --> 00:13:22.841
When we trust in him and live righteously, we can rest assured that he will

00:13:22.841 --> 00:13:25.981
provide for us in every season.

00:13:26.061 --> 00:13:30.921
So it's so important to know that God cares for the righteous.

00:13:31.761 --> 00:13:36.241
And he says, it says, in the days of famine, they will enjoy plenty.

00:13:36.541 --> 00:13:39.761
In the days of famine, they will enjoy plenty.

00:13:40.081 --> 00:13:46.561
He tells us in Psalms 37 and 1, fret not that those who do evil.

00:13:46.721 --> 00:13:52.721
But then he tells us in verses 18 to 19 that he cares for the righteous.

00:13:53.021 --> 00:13:59.401
And so you want to make sure that you keep your eyes on God and just wait patiently

00:13:59.401 --> 00:14:02.861
for him. because he does care for his own.

00:14:03.501 --> 00:14:09.121
Let's go to Psalms 37, 23 to 24, God's guidance and support.

00:14:09.441 --> 00:14:13.521
The Lord makes firm the steps of those who delight in him.

00:14:13.801 --> 00:14:19.801
Though he may stumble, he will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with his hand.

00:14:20.061 --> 00:14:24.301
The verses provide reassurance that when we delight in the Lord,

00:14:24.641 --> 00:14:28.541
he will guide our steps and support us along the way.

00:14:29.280 --> 00:14:34.280
We may find challenges and stumbles at times, but we are never abandoned.

00:14:35.060 --> 00:14:40.460
God's hand is always there to uphold us, to help us get back on our feet,

00:14:40.480 --> 00:14:44.760
and to continue to walk in his path.

00:14:44.980 --> 00:14:48.980
This passage is an encouragement to trust in God's guidance.

00:14:48.980 --> 00:14:54.460
Even when the road is tough, our journey of faith may not always be smooth,

00:14:54.780 --> 00:14:59.640
but we can be confident that God is with us every step of the way,

00:15:00.040 --> 00:15:04.540
guiding and supporting us through all life's ups and downs.

00:15:04.680 --> 00:15:08.720
So we can trust in God's care for his righteousness.

00:15:09.120 --> 00:15:15.080
We can trust in God's timing. We can trust in his guidance and his support.

00:15:15.820 --> 00:15:20.720
And most important, go with me to Psalms 37 verses 25 to 26.

00:15:21.120 --> 00:15:26.100
One of my favorite verses says, I was young and now I am old,

00:15:26.280 --> 00:15:31.240
yet I have never seen the righteous forsaken or their seed begging bread.

00:15:32.080 --> 00:15:36.920
They're always generous and lend freely. Their children will be a blessing.

00:15:37.380 --> 00:15:42.220
These verses reflect on the enduring faithfulness of God to his people.

00:15:42.980 --> 00:15:47.820
David the psalmist shares from his life experiences, they has never seen the

00:15:47.820 --> 00:15:52.420
righteous forsaken or their children left in need.

00:15:53.217 --> 00:15:58.337
This testimony speaks to the consistency of God's provision,

00:15:58.757 --> 00:16:02.857
the righteousness who trust in the Lord and live generously,

00:16:03.297 --> 00:16:10.537
experience God's blessings, not just in their own lives, but also extending to their children.

00:16:11.077 --> 00:16:18.837
This passage challenged us to live generously, trusting that God's provision is more than enough.

00:16:18.837 --> 00:16:23.417
When we align our lives with God's principles of generosity and faith,

00:16:23.657 --> 00:16:27.717
we can be confident that his provision will always be there,

00:16:27.897 --> 00:16:30.877
both for us and our future generation.

00:16:30.957 --> 00:16:36.057
So we never see our seed begging bread. I love that.

00:16:36.257 --> 00:16:42.457
I've never seen the righteous forsaken or their children begging bread.

00:16:42.717 --> 00:16:47.877
So God said he watches over us even in that generational blessing.

00:16:47.877 --> 00:16:54.437
And so even if your child is, they're working hard, right?

00:16:54.697 --> 00:16:56.837
But they ain't out begging for bread.

00:16:57.637 --> 00:17:05.037
That God blesses our generation as we are being faithful to him. How powerful is that?

00:17:05.637 --> 00:17:10.457
Can you do it for your children? Be faithful to God for your children.

00:17:10.897 --> 00:17:14.477
A couple of points I want to cover is trusting the Lord.

00:17:15.317 --> 00:17:20.617
The verses that we explore today in Psalm 37 repeatedly call us to trust in

00:17:20.617 --> 00:17:23.397
the Lord, especially in times of difficulty.

00:17:23.597 --> 00:17:28.737
The trust is not passive. It's an active decision to place our confidence in

00:17:28.737 --> 00:17:30.037
God's care and provision.

00:17:30.337 --> 00:17:35.037
Even when life is challenging, we are encouraged to commit our ways to the Lord,

00:17:35.337 --> 00:17:38.737
to delight in Him, and to wait patiently for His timing.

00:17:39.397 --> 00:17:44.497
Trusting in the Lord brings peace, even when the world around us is in turmoil. Wow.

00:17:45.349 --> 00:17:50.829
In what areas of your life is God calling you to trust him more fully?

00:17:51.149 --> 00:17:55.209
Are there situations where you're tempted to worry or take matters into your

00:17:55.209 --> 00:17:58.669
own hands rather than resting in his provision?

00:17:59.289 --> 00:18:08.129
Psalms 37 encouraged us to release our anxiety and trust that God is faithfully guiding our steps.

00:18:09.009 --> 00:18:16.789
Living in faith. Psalm 37 also teaches us about living a life of faith and righteousness,

00:18:17.329 --> 00:18:20.029
knowing that God would not forsake his people.

00:18:20.449 --> 00:18:27.149
The righteousness are described as those who trust in God, do good and live generously.

00:18:27.869 --> 00:18:37.489
These psalms remind us that our faith should be lived out in our action.

00:18:37.489 --> 00:18:43.809
Is how we treat others and in our trust in God's provision.

00:18:44.069 --> 00:18:50.349
When we live this way, we reflect God's love and faithfulness to the world around us.

00:18:50.809 --> 00:18:55.989
Consider how we can apply these principles to your daily lives.

00:18:56.169 --> 00:19:04.009
Are there areas where you can step out in faith and trust God more deeply and live more generously.

00:19:04.309 --> 00:19:09.949
God promises that we can commit our ways to him and we can live and we can guide

00:19:09.949 --> 00:19:12.009
and he will guide and provide for us.

00:19:12.129 --> 00:19:16.089
So God is here is challenging us in two different ways.

00:19:16.269 --> 00:19:18.609
Like one, can we trust him more fully?

00:19:19.504 --> 00:19:24.784
You know, is there ways that we can say we can trust him more fully? Can we be like Abraham?

00:19:25.064 --> 00:19:27.984
Can we let go of some things he's been telling us to let go of?

00:19:28.424 --> 00:19:34.044
You know, Joseph, can we let go of some bitterness and get involved in some reconciliation?

00:19:34.604 --> 00:19:39.564
And in Psalms, can we just put our eyes on Jesus and not be so concerned about

00:19:39.564 --> 00:19:42.264
how God's going to pay our enemies back?

00:19:42.264 --> 00:19:47.004
Can we focus on that generational blessing where we never seen the righteous

00:19:47.004 --> 00:19:49.784
forsaken or his seed begging bread?

00:19:50.284 --> 00:19:53.244
You know, how can he guide us better?

00:19:53.984 --> 00:19:58.564
God wants to kind of lead and guide us better. So let's just take a moment here

00:19:58.564 --> 00:20:02.184
and let's reflect on how God can do more.

00:20:02.384 --> 00:20:06.184
Because he says, girl, God's got you. But where can he get you if you're just

00:20:06.184 --> 00:20:07.604
still holding on to everything?

00:20:08.224 --> 00:20:13.764
Where can you let go and allow God to just do what he does? I like to say this,

00:20:13.884 --> 00:20:15.284
do what he's famous for, right?

00:20:15.644 --> 00:20:18.844
So let's take a moment and reflect on what we learned in Psalms 37.

00:20:19.344 --> 00:20:24.304
These verses offer profound encouragement for anyone seeking to trust in God's

00:20:24.304 --> 00:20:25.504
provision and guidance.

00:20:25.764 --> 00:20:30.404
How do these scriptures speak to your current situation?

00:20:30.744 --> 00:20:35.084
Are there areas where you need to commit to your ways to the Lord more fully?

00:20:35.964 --> 00:20:39.724
Where can you trust God and his timing rather than your own?

00:20:40.604 --> 00:20:45.264
I encourage you to spend time meditating on this psalm throughout the week.

00:20:45.744 --> 00:20:51.764
Let the promises of God, cares, and provisions sink into your heart and allow

00:20:51.764 --> 00:20:54.744
them to guide your actions and decisions.

00:20:55.224 --> 00:21:00.024
Trusting in the Lord is a journey. And as we continue to place our confidence

00:21:00.024 --> 00:21:04.944
in him, he will be faithful to unfold in our lives.

00:21:05.084 --> 00:21:10.244
So as we close this segment, I want to go over to our decrees.

00:21:10.504 --> 00:21:14.444
I was going to make this another episode, but I want to just go ahead and close

00:21:14.444 --> 00:21:15.704
it out with these decrees.

00:21:16.604 --> 00:21:24.104
And so these declarations of faith is really about when we declare God's word,

00:21:24.104 --> 00:21:28.464
we're just speaking what God says, but we're speaking it in faith.

00:21:28.464 --> 00:21:31.344
And so we're speaking in faith because we're speaking it in faith,

00:21:31.404 --> 00:21:34.684
right? So when we declare God's word, we're not just speaking empty words.

00:21:34.844 --> 00:21:39.744
We're aligning ourselves with the truth, who God is and what he has promised us.

00:21:40.024 --> 00:21:45.544
So declarations help us renew our minds, build our faith, and reinforce the

00:21:45.544 --> 00:21:48.864
reality of God's presence and power in our lives.

00:21:48.984 --> 00:21:54.544
They remind us of his faithfulness and keep our focus on his ability to provide

00:21:54.544 --> 00:21:58.384
and sustain us in every situation.

00:21:59.164 --> 00:22:03.624
And so I want to go over these declarations of faith. There's five of them.

00:22:04.443 --> 00:22:09.503
And so we're going to start in Acts 6, and this is decree of seeking God's direction.

00:22:10.123 --> 00:22:15.523
And it says, and you can repeat after me or just listen and just receive it by faith.

00:22:15.723 --> 00:22:19.223
It says, Lord, I seek your direction in my life.

00:22:19.643 --> 00:22:24.563
Like Paul on the road to Damascus, I asked, what would you have me to do?

00:22:25.063 --> 00:22:29.603
Guide my steps and lead me in the path you have prepared for me.

00:22:29.863 --> 00:22:34.083
I trust in your wisdom and in your path for my life.

00:22:34.443 --> 00:22:39.223
So just as Paul sought God's direction after his encounter with Jesus,

00:22:39.563 --> 00:22:44.063
we too must seek God's guidance in our daily lives.

00:22:44.203 --> 00:22:48.283
This decree is reminded to continually ask God for direction,

00:22:48.723 --> 00:22:51.303
trusting he will lead us in the right way.

00:22:51.603 --> 00:22:54.023
And so that's found in Acts 9, 6.

00:22:54.363 --> 00:23:00.423
James 1, 3 through 18, decrees of steadfast faith during a trial.

00:23:00.423 --> 00:23:04.623
So I decree that my faith will remain steadfast during trials.

00:23:05.263 --> 00:23:09.243
I know that the testing of my faith produces perseverance.

00:23:09.683 --> 00:23:15.543
I will not waver, but will stand firm, trusting that God is refining me and

00:23:15.543 --> 00:23:18.283
bringing me closer to the image of Christ.

00:23:19.243 --> 00:23:25.363
James reminds us that trials are opportunities for growth in our faith.

00:23:25.363 --> 00:23:30.903
This declaration encouraged us to stay strong during difficult times,

00:23:31.103 --> 00:23:36.083
knowing that God is using these trials to develop our character and faith.

00:23:36.703 --> 00:23:42.583
Habakkuk 1, 2, 1-4 decrees of expecting God's response.

00:23:43.063 --> 00:23:46.983
I stand and watch and wait for your response, Lord.

00:23:47.203 --> 00:23:52.223
I know that your timing is perfect, and I trust that you will answer in the

00:23:52.223 --> 00:23:57.323
way, your way, in your time. I will write down your vision and make it plain,

00:23:57.583 --> 00:24:00.463
believing that it will surely come to pass.

00:24:01.203 --> 00:24:06.523
Habakkuk teaches us about the importance of waiting on God and inspecting his response.

00:24:06.963 --> 00:24:12.903
This decree is a declaration of trust in God's timing, his faithfulness to fulfill this promise.

00:24:13.403 --> 00:24:20.643
James 117, a decree of trust in God's perfect gifts. I declare that every good

00:24:20.643 --> 00:24:26.163
and perfect gift in my life comes from above and from the Father of lights.

00:24:26.463 --> 00:24:31.863
He does not change like shifting shadows. I trust in your provision,

00:24:32.063 --> 00:24:35.783
Lord, and I'm grateful for the blessing you have bestowed upon me.

00:24:35.983 --> 00:24:42.003
This declaration is based on the truth that God is the source of all good things

00:24:42.003 --> 00:24:48.663
in our lives. It encouraged us to acknowledge his provision and trust in his unchanging nature.

00:24:49.503 --> 00:24:52.663
And the last one, decree of approaching God with confidence.

00:24:53.740 --> 00:24:59.460
I boldly approach the throne of grace and confident that I will receive mercy

00:24:59.460 --> 00:25:04.080
and find grace and help in my time of need.

00:25:04.280 --> 00:25:09.360
I thank you, Lord, that Jesus is my high priest who understands my weakness

00:25:09.360 --> 00:25:11.120
and intercedes on my behalf.

00:25:11.580 --> 00:25:19.060
Hebrews reminds us that we can approach God with confidence because Jesus, because of Jesus.

00:25:19.760 --> 00:25:25.420
This decree is powerful affirmation of our access to God's grace and mercy and

00:25:25.420 --> 00:25:31.700
a reminder that we can bring our needs before him with full assurance and his love and care.

00:25:32.060 --> 00:25:36.760
So as we close this segment, I want to encourage you that the declaration is

00:25:36.760 --> 00:25:40.300
part of your spiritual practice. You know, speak them loud.

00:25:40.740 --> 00:25:44.960
You can create your own. Take the scriptures, your favorite scriptures,

00:25:45.140 --> 00:25:47.460
and create declarations of faith.

00:25:48.360 --> 00:25:49.640
Speak them boldly.

00:25:50.600 --> 00:25:55.020
Memorize. It's a good way to help memorize scripture too. And just begin to

00:25:55.020 --> 00:26:01.800
allow God's word to become more in our hearts and our mind. And they align with the word.

00:26:01.980 --> 00:26:06.400
And we will begin to see his power at work in our lives.

00:26:06.920 --> 00:26:09.980
Remember, declarations are not just about positive thinking,

00:26:10.180 --> 00:26:13.580
but they're about speaking the truth of God's word over your life,

00:26:13.580 --> 00:26:21.500
standing on his promises and trusting that what he said he will do. Remember, God got you.

00:26:21.800 --> 00:26:27.320
And how do you know he got you? Because we build our faith on his word,

00:26:27.320 --> 00:26:31.540
and then we declare that word over our lives, right?

00:26:31.620 --> 00:26:35.100
That he's guiding us, that he's protecting us, he's providing for us,

00:26:35.200 --> 00:26:41.540
and he's giving us strength to face every challenge with confidence and faith.

00:26:41.540 --> 00:26:45.500
So let's close out our final episode with prayer.

00:26:45.800 --> 00:26:50.960
Heavenly Father, we thank you for the power of your word and for the truth that

00:26:50.960 --> 00:26:52.400
it brings into our lives.

00:26:52.600 --> 00:26:57.560
Help us to speak your word with confidence, to declare your promises over our

00:26:57.560 --> 00:27:00.800
lives, and to trust in your provision and guidance.

00:27:01.120 --> 00:27:06.660
As we make these declarations, Lord God, as we trust in you,

00:27:06.920 --> 00:27:12.100
according to Psalms 37, May our faith be strengthened and our hearts be aligned with your will.

00:27:12.360 --> 00:27:18.900
We thank you for being faithful, for hearing us, and for being at work in every situation.

00:27:19.360 --> 00:27:25.680
We trust in you, Lord, and we commit our lives to your hands. In Jesus' name, amen.

00:27:27.048 --> 00:27:31.728
As we wrap up this segment, I hope you're encouraged to start making declarations

00:27:31.728 --> 00:27:33.048
part of your daily routine.

00:27:33.308 --> 00:27:38.868
Remember, there is power in the words you speak. We saw that with Abraham.

00:27:39.168 --> 00:27:43.608
When Abraham knew he had to sacrifice his son, he says what?

00:27:44.108 --> 00:27:49.208
He says, the Lord will provide a lamb.

00:27:49.708 --> 00:27:55.368
And he just spoke in faith. We saw Joseph. Joseph was determined that he didn't

00:27:55.368 --> 00:28:01.528
bring up any of the negative stuff that happened to him when he was sold into savory.

00:28:01.808 --> 00:28:06.388
He said, this is what God, what you meant for evil, God meant for good.

00:28:06.828 --> 00:28:10.728
The words change when our relationship with God change.

00:28:11.008 --> 00:28:15.948
So we want to be rooted in God's truth, speak life, speak faith,

00:28:15.948 --> 00:28:19.568
and watch how God moves in our circumstances. right?

00:28:20.108 --> 00:28:25.228
Thank you for joining me today on Diary of Black Women Podcast, our devotional series.

00:28:25.828 --> 00:28:30.988
Stay tuned for more episodes where we will continue to explore God's word and

00:28:30.988 --> 00:28:32.728
how he works in our lives.

00:28:32.988 --> 00:28:38.668
And always remember, no matter what, girl, God got you.

00:28:39.308 --> 00:28:44.548
Until next time, keep declaring God's truth over your life. Keep walking by faith.
