2026: Don't Be Lot's Wife- Warning: Ep. 10: Cross the Threshold into Your Future

0:00 Hello and welcome to the Diary of a Black Woman podcast. I want to wish you all a happy, happy new year. We are on episode 10 of. Of our 2026th year when heaven and earth intersects. The title is The Warning, Don't Look Back. And I'm your host, Connie Morris, and I'm so glad to be with you on this New Year's Eve, right? New Year's Eve, getting ready for what God has for us. We're in the starting blocks. And like I said, I never got to get in the starting blocks because I was not a fast runner. I was a distance runner, so we started standing up. So we're in our positions waiting for the whistle or the little gun to go off. So let's get started.

0:49 Today's message comes with a prophetic heaviness, a seriousness, and a holy urgency. I just want to be honest with you that this message, these messages, these podcasts that I've done, they have been heavy. I can feel God's heaviness, his weightiness sitting upon me, so heavy regarding this word this year. Very, very heavy. I'm not called to be a prophet. I'm called to be a teacher, but I have prophetic messages. Whenever you spend time with God, God always gives you an outlook, a future. So you don't have to be a prophet to understand that he likes to show you.

1:30 I think God likes to share his secrets with us. And so he will show you some things that's coming your way. So you won't be surprised. So you can be ready. So hopefully you've been listening to the podcast and getting ready for your, but as we are on this new year's Eve day, I want to look and tell you. Don't look back. This message is heavy. There is one warning God is releasing in 2026. One message echoing across Hebrew year 5786 is this. You cannot hold on to the old and step into the new at the same time. I want to repeat that.

2:11 You cannot hold on to the old and step into the new. The same time. What God is doing, what God is shaking, what God is aligning, what God is separating requires your forward movement. And the enemy's greatest strategy in a year of divine transition is to keep you tied to what God already delivered you from. This is the episode where we confront the spirit of looking back. Whoa, God says do not look back, look forward. He's a forward moving God. The Hebrew year 5-7-8-6, the year of the threshold and the warning.

2:52 We learn that 5-7-8-6 represents a boundary, a crossing, a divine separation, a movement, a forward movement, a moment where heaven draws a line, and a season where God says, not there, here, where he's directing you to your right position. But it also represents a holy warning not to return to what God has brought you out of. 5, 7, 8, 6, is it not a year for, here we go, revisiting old bondages, reopening old rooms, reconnecting with old cycles.

3:33 I want to pause here because old cycles, As soon as you are getting ready to run this race, somebody from your past shows up. So remember, go through your phone, delete old stuff so you don't have to worry about reconnecting with old cycles. Returning to old behaviors. That goes with old cycles. You're hanging with the same people who you've been delivered from. They call you, hey, let's do this on this day. You're like, no, I can't. You're too good for that? Yes. A little bit too good for that right now. I'm on a forward movement with God. It's not like when you say God or Jesus, people run anyway. So maybe use that. Okay.

4:14 Re-entertaining past relationships, falling back into old sins, responding to old temptations, looking back in 5, 7, 8, 6, 1026 is dangerous. The warning of Lot's wife. The message for 2026. Let's look at some scripture. Genesis 19, verse 7, 17 tells us. This is a story of Lot and his wife. The angels came to rescue them from Sodom and Gomorrah. And this was an urgent message for them. They had to go because God was getting ready to destroy that area. And so let's pick it up there. Escape for your life. Do not look behind you.

4:58 Escape to the mountain. God gave three commands. Move, don't look back, go higher. Lot's wife obeyed the first command, but died at the second. What can we say about that? When someone tells you to escape for your life, you start to run. But then you, out of curiosity, out of whatever causes you to look back, you look back. But she was warned, don't look back or you're going to turn into a pillar. I got to check the Bible on that one. But she looked back and then she stayed. She was stuck. She can't go nowhere. She died right there. Boom. Genesis 19, 26. But his wife looked back at and became a pillar of salt.

5:42 She didn't die because she walked back. She died because she looked back. Her heart was still in Sodom. Her longing was still in the past. Her attachment was still tied to a place God judged. And that is a warning for 2026. Your eyes must match your destiny. Your focus must match your calling. Your heart must match your assignment. You know, when you, when God moves you. It's so interesting because I moved to Nebraska. I have a sister there. I have two sisters over in Michigan and my mom. And my younger sister saying, Connie, I'll leave the light on for you. I was like, you can turn your light off. I'm not coming back.

6:24 She started looking for jobs for me back in Michigan. You see how easy that is? You know, you go like, wait a minute. And I entertained it just for a minute until the Lord says, no, I'm not sending you back. So don't look back. I'm sending you forward. Whatever I have for you is right here where I've called you to be. That's powerful, right? So a lot of times it's tempting to entertain that idea of going back where God has delivered you. But don't do that. Your eyes must match your destiny. That's forward. Your focus must match your calling. That's higher. Your heart must match your assignment. That's happening sooner than later.

7:04 What looking back means spiritually? Looking back is not just a physical act. It's an art and heart posture. You know, I remember I was looking at those jobs and my heart wasn't there. I said, I don't want to go back. I'm looking at it. It's entertaining. But it wasn't like, it was just like, no, that's not where else you can feel it in your heart. That's not where I'm supposed to go. And I don't care what it looks like here in Nebraska. This is where God's placed me. This is where my church is. This is where I'm staying. So looking back is not a physical act. It's a heart posture. That means sometimes we don't even turn our heart. God takes us to a new place, but we're still kind of playing the ropes.

7:46 We're on the lawn looking for an opportunity to go backwards. I tell my sister, there's nothing back there for me. If I need to come back, I'll come and get mom. She can stay with me in Nebraska. So you look back. What caused us to look back? Let's just take a pause there. When you look back, you romanticize what God removed. It was a prayer for me to leave Nebraska, leave the state, but I don't know where to go. Not leave Nebraska, leave Michigan. And the Lord says, next thing you know, opportunity came and I snatched it up. I don't think I even thought twice about it. I maybe thought about a minute or so about leaving. but I put my condo up for sale and that baby sold like within the hour.

8:32 So I was like, oh no, you are leaving now. You can't go back. And so once that happened, I had to look forward. I had to go find a place in Nebraska because my home was now sold. You replay old trauma, return to old relationships. It didn't work the first time. You know that. So why would you return? Bible says, return back to your vomit. Come on now. The guy or the girl wasn't right to begin with and so what would make it right because it looks fresh it looks new maybe you're saying that i haven't had a boyfriend in a while or a girlfriend in a while right but then you're saying like no god can do some new things he said in isaiah 43 19 doing a new thing so your new thing is where you're headed it's where your destiny is it's where your assignment is it's where you're calling it it's that the way it's not behind you we visit old sin cycles.

9:25 We opened doors, God closed. Clinging to expired excitement. That could be me. It's expired. How you know it's expired? Because you didn't get the position. It becomes immediately expired. And so God said, don't sit there. Don't start no drama over it. I closed that door on purpose for a reason. Realizing past season. You ever have friends that show up saying, girl, we just have so much fun and let's go do that one more time. And you can see in the world that when people go backwards, they don't never get to go for it. They die. Things happen, odd things, crazy things happen to you when you go back to your vomit, right? And your old season was only good because that's all you knew, but you know so much more now.

10:10 So you have to go towards your new and just enjoy what's forward, not what's behind you. Refuse to let go emotionally. Yeah, our body's physically here, but our emotions is back where we were. That never works. That emotion will pull you all the way back and you'll be going in circles. God calls that a double-minded man. He will be unstable in all his ways. And so, I mean, you're not trustworthy. So God is like, okay, girl, I need you to get it together. I need you to pay attention to me. Whatever behind you is gone. Try to rescue what God is judging. Oh my gosh, we save our children. We save our friends and we see they're going through something.

10:51 Why? Because they rejected God and God's saying, let them sit in that because I'm going to help them, but they have to come to me. God wants a personal relationship with them. You already have one. So you need to get out of God's way. And then finally, questions God's leading because it feels unfamiliar. Let me tell you, off everything I've done since 2022 has been unfamiliar. But has it been productive? Yes, it has been productive. I want you to write a book. I wrote the first one. I want you to write a second one. I want, okay, I wrote the second one. I want you to start a podcast. Don't know any, did not know one thing about a podcast.

11:32 I want you to write devotionals. I want you, All the things that I'm doing now in my new assignment, in my new space, I've never done that before. So God is going to give you some things that you've never done before. You might have to go research it, get some information, get some wisdom, ask God for some wisdom. But it's in your forward movement. It's not in your backwards movement. What's the cost? Because it's a cost when you look back. When we cross that threshold at midnight, wherever it is where you live, and you look back, there's a cost to that. It's going to cost you something. Let's check it out and see. When Lot's wife looked back, she froze.

12:14 She lost movement. She lost destiny. She lost alignment. She lost protection. She lost the glory. She lost future promises. And most important, she lost her life. In the year of shaking and glory, looking back can spiritually freeze you. It can freeze your purpose, freeze your growth, freeze your momentum, freeze your discernment, freeze your spiritual sensitivity. 5, 7, 8, 6 is a year where God requires forward only movement. Why God is warning us now. Why is this so important? He tells us in episode 10, I need you to go forward because everything looks so good right now because we're not at the threshold yet, right?

13:01 But right now, today, we're at the threshold. It's December 31st. So we're right at the threshold. That means right here, right before you cross over, don't be surprised if all hell tries to break loose, but it shouldn't because you've already planned this. I prepped you way in advance for what was going to happen on this threshold day. So why is God warning us right now? Because in 2026, we'll expose old wounds, shake loose old identities, bring back old temptations. There's going to be some temptation here. Reveal past attachments, test your resolve, press your loyalties and reveal what you refuse to let go.

13:43 So God's saying, whatever you don't let go, it's going to show up anyway. It's going to show up. He's going to notice some things about you. Did she really let go or not? When heaven touches earth, everything reacts. The question is, will you move with God or look back? The prophetic call to move forward. Scripture echoes this warning over and over. Philippians 3.13 tells us, forget what lies behind. Isaiah 43.18 verses 18 and 19, do not dwell on the former things. Hebrews 10.39, we are not those who shrink back.

14:25 Luke 9.62, no one who looks back is fit for the kingdom work. And Matthew 24.7, let the one on the housetop not go back. God is clear. If you look back, you lose momentum, clarity, vision, and destiny. What must you leave behind to enter into 2026? You still got time, so let's check it out. Old disappointments, old identities, cycles of trauma, people not assigned to your future, familiar bondage, fear and double-mindedness, emotional soul ties, unforgiveness, religious routines, comfort zones, people who drain your oil, anything that competes with your obedience.

15:11 5, 7, 8, 6 draws a line. You cannot cross carry yesterday. How do you guard yourself from looking back? I mean, we got time. It's still 2025. And so before we cross that threshold, there's some things you're going to leave in the 2025. First of all, you want to close doors firmly. How do you do that? You close the door, the relationship or whatever it is, and you delete the number. You block it, you delete it, whatever, they can't reach you. If you're on Facebook and all these social medias, that's kind of hard to get rid of people because they find a way to find you, but you can still block them on your DMs. You can get rid of some folks.

15:52 But first tell them, hey, I'm doing something new. Sorry. Boom. Let it be. Guard your memory. Not every memory deserves meditation. We do think on things like, I wonder if that would be better if I would have did that. When God says close it, that was the end of that relationship, the end of that story, the end of that job. Let it be. Break emotional ties. Cut the intercourse to what God severed. So God severed it in the natural, but you're going to have to sever it in the spiritual and emotional realm. Number four, stay in scripture. The word stabilizes forward movement. I love that. Keep your circle pure. People who romanticize the past, can make you miss the future.

16:36 Friends have a habit of doing that, especially when they see you're doing well. Guess who I saw? I have a sister who loves keeping track of all her old friends. I don't. I delete, you know. I delete, block, whatever I need to do because I go forward. And some of our friends are like, whoa, you didn't even tell us you were leaving. Well, sometimes you have to just go. Stay alert. The enemy loves familiar interests. He loves familiar people. You want to stay alert. You want to keep that door locked. Move quickly. Delayed obedience creates opportunities to look back. And finally, number eight, stay filled with oil. Empty lamps always drip backwards.

17:18 You do not want to get stuck. I teach this class on like restoration over addiction. And these are some of these are some great, great things. If I could teach it in that class regarding scripture, like keeping your oil, staying filled with oil. And it says here, empty lamps always drift back. Anything empty or emotional that you don't have control over, you will actually veer most to the comfort zone. We're not made to fear, to the uncomfort zone. We want to go back to what we think is comfortable when God is trying to move you out of that zone. Repeat after me the prophetic decree. Declare this with authority. I refuse to look back.

18:01 I release the past. I break emotional attachment to old seasons. I close every door God has shut. I set my eyes on the future God has prepared for me. In 2026, I move forward. I advance. I cross over. I will not be Lot's wife. I will be the remnant. In Jesus' name, amen. I know if you said that with your heart, I know I felt that one. And then let's pray. Lord, thank you for this prophetic warning. Give every listener the strength to release their paths, the courage to move forward, and the discipline to guard their focus. Cut every tie that leads backwards. Break every chain tied to yesterday.

18:43 Remove the desire to return to what you delivered us from. Place a holy fire within us to press toward your calling, the high calling. In Jesus' name, amen.
