Chapter 6: Ep4: Boldly Approaching the Throne: Jesus Our High Priest

And if you've been following this series, you know we've been digging deep. We've talking about asking God, waiting on Him, and stepping out in bold action. But now we're going into something so reassuring that it's going to lighten up your prayer life like never before. Are you ready? Today, we're diving into the assurance we have in Jesus, our high priest, who intercedes for us. I don't know about you, but just knowing that Jesus himself is praying for me, that gives me the confidence to face anything.

0:45 So if you're feeling weary or if you need to be reminded that God's got your back, this episode is going to bring the comfort and power you've been waiting for. So let's dig in. So picture this. You're about to walk into a big meeting or maybe you're facing a major life decision. Wouldn't it be amazing to have someone standing next to you who's already gone through everything you're about to face and who knows exactly what you need? Well, that's exactly what we have in Jesus. Hebrews 4, 14 to 16 tells us that Jesus, our high priest, isn't just some distant figure.

1:31 He knows what we're going through because he lived it and he's interceding for us. That means every time you pray, you're not alone. Jesus is right there backing you up. Hebrews 4, 14 to 16, Jesus as our high priest. Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has ascended into heaven, Jesus, the son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to emphasize with our weakness. But we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are. yet did not sin.

2:18 Let that sink in for a second. Jesus knows exactly what you are dealing with. He's walked through temptation, trials, and pain, but he overcame it all. This changes everything. You're not praying to a distant God who doesn't get it. You're praying to someone who has felt your struggles and knows your heart. That's why the next verse tells us to approach God's throne of grace with confidence, not with fear or hesitation, but with boldness. Why? Because Jesus already paved the way. His intercession is like a powerful ally, making sure your prayers reach the heart of God.

3:09 This is where your faith should explode with confidence. When you bring your request to God, you don't have to wonder if he's listening or if you're worthy. Jesus already made you worthy. So let's shake off that doubt. Whatever is weighing your heart, whatever you've and afraid to ask. Bring it boldly before God. He's waiting with open arms, ready to pour out his mercy and grace before you. Jesus, our high priest, intercedes for us so we can boldly approach the throne of grace. One of the most comforting truths in scripture is that Jesus, our high priest is constantly interceding on our behalf.

3:56 This means that no matter what we're facing, Jesus is standing in the gap for us. We can approach God's throne with boldness, not because of our own strength, but because of what Jesus has done for us. When we come to God in prayer, we do so with full confidence, knowing that Jesus is praying for us, standing alongside us, and paving the way for us to receive mercy and grace. This changes everything. Just some points of encouragement. Jesus is praying for you.

4:38 Right now, Jesus is at the hand of God, interceding for you. This gives you the boldness to bring anything to the throne of grace, knowing he is on your side. Number two, you are never alone. Even in your darkest moment, you are not alone. Jesus is constantly lifting you up in prayer, standing with you in every challenge. Number three, boldness and grace. Don't hesitate to bring your needs, your fears, your requests to God. Approach him with confidence, knowing that his grace is sufficient for you.

5:25 Our key scripture is Hebrews 4, 14 to 16. Jesus, our high priest, intercedes for us, and we can boldly approach the throne of gray. Romans 8, 34. Who then is one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus, who died more than that, who raised to life, is at the right hand of God, is also interceding for us. Knowing Jesus is actively interceding for us, gives us confidence in approaching God's throne. 1 Timothy 2.5, for there is one God, one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus.

6:11 Come on now, Jesus is alive and he's interceding on our behalf. Hebrews 7, 25. Therefore, he is able to save completely those who come to God through him because he's always lives to intercede for them. The assurance that Jesus constantly intercedes for us, empowers us to approach God boldly. How powerful is that? I hope this truth sinks in into your soul. Jesus, hope this truth seeks into your soul. Jesus, our high priest, is praying for you. That means you're never alone.

6:56 Your prayers are powerful because he's standing in the gap for you. As you go through this week, I challenge you to approach God with boldness and confidence and faith. Don't hold back. He's waiting for you at the throne of grace. Oh man, that's powerful. That's powerful. So take a second. What is that one thing you are afraid to bring to God? Right now, say it out loud. Approach him boldly. You've got Jesus standing in the gap praying for you.

7:38 So you don't have to be afraid to go before God with anything, because Jesus is interceding on your behalf. You can share anything with your Heavenly Father, with your Jesus. Because Jesus is standing in the gap for you. So don't hold back. He's waiting for you at the throne of grace. That's your assignment for this week, is to take a second and just understand what is that one thing you're afraid of? Remember Adam and Eve, they were hiding from the presence of God because they, and then God said, what, who told you you were naked?

8:24 Like who you've been listening to? Anytime during that activity from the fruit, eating the fruit, he could have just said, Lord, I ate the fruit, please forgive me. But he didn't. He ran. They ran and hid. We don't have to hide. We can actually go before God boldly because Jesus died for our sin. No longer hiding. You can go before the throne of God boldly to the throne of grace. No more hiding. No more being afraid. That's your assignment today, is to be real with God this week. Ask him for help. Ask him for what you need.

9:05 Ask him to help you move forward in what he's asking you to do. That you can stand up and be bold. No more being ashamed. He's waiting for you.
