Church Chronicles: Ep 1: 2025: A Year of Divine Surprises and Jubilee Blessings

I'm your host, Connie Morris, and I'm thrilled to embark on this journey with you as we explore the profound themes and promises that 2025 holds for us. Hope you heard the introduction. Hope that got you stirred up. Hope you have your pencil and paper. And I hope you had an opportunity to download a copy of the devotional for this series.

0:43 It's a lot in there and I don't have time to go to e-scripture, but I want to get you stirred up what God has in store for you. Not even just stirred up, just a set of foundation so that you can have your expectations ready for what God has for you in 2025. And so we're going to explore this. So as we step into 2025, we are entering a year that has been prophetically declared as a time for. Extraordinary breakthroughs, restoration, and unexpected blessings. If you haven't stood up and shouted for this, I want you to stand up right now.

1:28 You have to do things in faith. So if your life in 2024 has been jacked up, I need you to jump up right now and just declare that 2025 would be a year of extraordinary breakthrough, restoration, and unexpected blessing. This year is marked by two profound themes, divine surprises and jubilee blessings. Now, this is your jubilee. We'll get into that probably in part three. But right now, I want you to understand that this is your year of extraordinary breakthroughs. I mean, extraordinary breakthroughs, restoration. Where in your life do you see some things need to be restored and unexpected blessings like getting a package, a gift from God.

2:17 You don't even know you were getting it, right? Answer prayer when you didn't expect it, right? So this year is marked by divine surprise and jubilee blessing. But what do these mean? And how can we prepare our hearts to receive all that God has in store for us? So let's start by understanding the concept of divine surprises. When God showed me that, I thought that was so, you know, when he says it's a year of divine surprises. It says a year of surprises, and then it's a year of divine surprises. So that means that God has something in store for you. He has a gift wrapped up with your name on it.

2:59 The idea here is that God's ways are higher than our ways. He delights in doing the unexpected to bring glory to his name. So it's really not about you. It's about bringing glory to his name. because when we get a gift from God, we're going to just jump around and give God the praise because we know only he could have done that. Only he was the one that was in that prayer closet when we were praying and crying out to him. Only he knows our hearts and our desires. So when we get that divine surprise, we know it only had to come from God because he's the only one that knows. Amen. So he's the only one that's going to get the glory.

3:41 So that means that in 2025, we should be ready to witness God's hand moving in the ways that exceeds our human imagination. And what that just showed me is that don't you put God in the box in 2025? You better take him out the box. And then when something happens, don't you question it. You just better give God the praise right away. You're like, what? That just happened? Oh, I'm just jumping up and down. When you open your bank account, there's more than enough in there. Boom. Don't question it. Check the bank. Say, hey, this is all mine. They go, yep. Dang, it's yours. Hallelujah. One of the key scriptures that encapsulates the theme is Isaiah 43, 19. That should be on your wall, your refrigerator.

4:29 I was going to say your stove, but don't put nothing on your stove. In your bathroom. Which says, it says, see, I am doing a new thing. It says, see, I mean, I want you to look at it, see that I'm doing a new thing. So something's going to happen in 2025 that's going to affect what we see. So see, I'm doing a new thing. See, look, see, I'm doing a new thing. Now it springs forth. Do you not perceive it? So you're going to have to see it and you're going to have to perceive it. See it with your spiritual eyes first, perceive it with your spiritual eyes, and it's going to manifest in the natural. I am making a way in the wilderness and the streams in the wasteland.

5:11 This verse reminds us that God specializes in bringing surprises in dry and barren places, turning our wilderness into a place of abundance. Another powerful scripture is Ephesians 3 20, which states now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than we can ask or imagine according to his power that is at work within us. This verse encourages us to believe that God's surprises will exceed anything that we can think or imagine. Look how he's working this year, this season, 2025.

5:54 He's telling us to see. He's telling us to perceive. He's telling us to think, come on, beyond our thinking, beyond our imagination. So all our senses are going to be really stimulated this year from seeing what God can do, being exposed to what God can do. Now let's talk about this Jubilee blessing. The concept of Jubilee is rooted in Leviticus 25.10, where God instituted a year of liberty and restoration for his people. Now, you know, I'm all stirred up because I get the message first, right? So I'm already ahead of you.

6:36 You know how when you can't run and someone gives you a head start, I'm already at the finish. I'm not at the finish line yet because it's not even 2026 yet. But let's say I'm already running out front with this. OK, so I'm already a head start. I've already prayed for you to be already get this message and just catch up. Let's say that. Let's just say catch up. So when we talk about Jubilee blessing, this is a big deal for God because God is a God of reset. And so when he put in Leviticus, so if you haven't really read Leviticus, maybe that might be your thing for 2025. Doing a new thing, read Leviticus, because that's where the laws are set up. And it tells you here in Leviticus 25, 10, where God instituted a year, a year of liberty, not a day, not an hour, not a second, but a year of liberty and restoration for his people.

7:31 You know how much stuff we can get done in a year, y'all? Come on now. It's been a long time since we had that COVID thing happen. So that's four years. But what can God do in a year in your life? A year of liberty, a year of restoration for his people. It was a time when debt was canceled, were canceled, debt were canceled, property was restored, captives set free. Jubilee represents God's heart for restoration and freedom, a time of returning to what was lost and experience his favor and abundance.

8:12 I like to think of this as heaven on earth. He says a year of liberty, a year of freedom. Once you get this message, you better start praying for your freedom. What are you expecting God to do in this year? It starts today. Matter of fact, it started for me in December. Ready? Let's go. Let's go. It says this Leviticus represents, I like to think of his reset. It's a year where he says everybody equal. Oh, justice is meaning to make right. So this is a year where he's making things right.

8:59 He's making things right. Let's go. Isaiah 61 verses one through two. We see a beautiful depiction of Jubilee. The spirit of the sovereign Lord is on me. Say that the spirit of the Lord is upon me. The Lord has anointed me. Say that he has anointed me to proclaim the good news to the poor. I mean, you got to get out. How are you going to proclaim the good news to the poor if you poor? Oh, yes. So I mean, you ain't going to be poor no more. So you're going to have some money to give to the poor. He has set you to bind up the brokenhearted. Why? Because he's going to heal your brokenhearted so you can go heal somebody else's broken heart.

9:40 To proclaim freedom for the captives and release darkness from the prisoners. Why? Because you are going to be free. And who the son has set free is free indeed. And so you can go out and free some people too. Amen. Amen. Amen. Come on now. Amen, amen, amen. I told you I was running already ahead. I'm already ahead of you. I'm already celebrating. Let's continue. This passage ties directly to the year of Jubilee in God's favor, emphasizing restoration.

10:22 God's restore us and freedom. Restoration and freedom. What would it feel like, y'all, to be free? What would it feel like to be free? What would it feel like to be restored? Get up now. Do your happy dance because this is your time to feel like you are free. You are restored. Why? Because the anointing of the Lord is upon you. Receive it now in Jesus' name. So as we align our hearts with God's word and trust in his promises, we will witness the fulfillment of his divine plan in our lives.

11:06 2025 is a year to proclaim liberty. Say, I am free. I am free. I am free. Embrace restoration and celebrate God's goodness with joy and thanksgiving. So as we embark on this journey together, let's prepare our hearts to experience his surpassing greatness. I think there's a song that let's experience our heart to experience how great God is. We hear about it, we read about it, but this is a year where we will experience how great God is and receive the fullness of the Jubilee blessing.

11:48 So let us declare boldly, this is the Lord's doing and it is marvelous in our eyes. That's from Psalms 118, verse 20, 23. So we will boast on the Lord by saying, this is the Lord's doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes. I want to continue on to the next part of this. I am warmed up. Are you warmed up? So let's go. This is our first segment. The second segment, I want to just continue and go deeper into the foundation of Jubilee and how we can position ourselves to receive these blessings.

12:37 The concept of Jubilee is deeply rooted in the Bible, specifically in Leviticus 25.10, which says, consecrate the 50th year and proclaim liberty throughout the land to all its inhabitants. It should be a Jubilee for you. each of you is to return to your family property and your own, return to your family property in your own clan. So go back to your property, go back to your own family. This verse highlights three key aspects, aspects of the Jubilee, liberty, restoration, and returning to what, and returning what was lost.

13:20 Once again, liberty, restoration, and returning what was lost. First, let's talk about liberty. Jubilee is a time when debt are forgiven and captors are set free. What? Debt are forgiven and captors are set free. It's a season of liberation, a season. I live in Nebraska and we have seasons. And so winter, spring, summer, fall. So this is, We talk about a year of jubilee. We're talking about seasonal liberation from anything that God has held, anything that was held back or kept us in bondage.

14:01 This is a season of freedom, y'all. No, let's do it. And Isaiah 61 to read the spirit of the sovereign Lord is upon me because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim the good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom to the captives, and release from the darkness for the prisoners to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor. When you have favor, you don't need money. Come on now. You got the Lord's favor upon you. This passage beautifully ties to the theme of Jubilee, emphasizing freedom and God's favor.

14:42 So we're talking about the year of Jubilee, the year of Jubilee, Jubilee, Jubilee, say it, say it, say it, say it. Liberty, restoration, and returning what was lost, freedom and God's favor. Next, we have restoration. Jubilee is a time for returning to what was lost and experiencing God's abundant provision. Let's add to this list here. Liberty, restoration, returning what was lost, freedom, God's favor, and restoration. Jubilee is a time returning what was lost, experiencing God's abundance and provision. I love this scripture. In Joel 2, 25 to 26, God promises, listen, listen, I will repay you for the years the locusts have eaten.

15:34 The great locusts, the young locusts, the other locusts, we ain't got time to name them all, the other locusts and the locust swarm. My great army that I sent you, you will have plenty to eat until you are full. And you will praise the name of the Lord, your God. Wow. He says, I will repay you for the years the locusts have eaten. And then it ends. It says, you will, because there must have been a time that there was famine because the locusts ate everything. But then he says, I'm going to repay you for what the locusts have eaten. And he began to list all what the locusts, you know, the layers of locusts that was eating up everything. And then he says, you will have plenty to eat.

16:20 You will have plenty to eat until you are full and you will praise the name of the Lord your God who has worked wonders for you. And he says this, never again will my people be shamed. Are you God's people? Have you been shamed in your life? God says that won't happen no more. He says you're going to eat to you full and you won't ever be shamed. I think of being embarrassed, not having enough, having to explain your way out of stuff. Come on now. God said that's not going to happen anymore.

17:00 This verse assures us that God will restore what has been taken or lost, filling our lives with abundance and joy. This list is getting long for this Jubilee year. We got liberty, restoration. We got returning what was lost. We got freedom and favor. We got abundance and provision. We got abundance and joy. We got no more shame. And finally, jubilee is about returning to God's promises. It's a time to reclaim your inheritance and walk in the fullness of his blessings.

17:45 In Luke 4, 18 and 19, Jesus declared that the spirit of the Lord is on me, upon me, because he's anointed me to proclaim the good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom from the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind and set the oppressed free to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor. So we're looking at this is Jesus saying, this is what I am doing in the year of 2025. Look for me in 2025. Look for me to do great things in your life. Look for me. Look for me, Jesus says. Look for me. Look for me.

18:30 Look for me. Jesus himself emphasized the importance of Jubilee, highlighting freedom, restoration, and God's favor. So how can we put ourselves in a position to receive the Jubilee blessings in 2025? I hope you've been taking notes and making the list and checking it twice. Number one, walk in faith and obedience. Just as the Israelites had to trust and obey God's instruction to experience jubilee, we must align our lives with the word and follow his guidance. Trust that his plans for you are good and that he will lead you into a season of abundance and restoration.

19:17 So we have to walk in faith and obedience. Number two, proclaim liberty. Proclaim is you shout it from the rooftop. You shout freedom. Speak freedom over every area of your life. Declare that you are free from debt, free from fear, free from any form of bondage. Embrace the liberty that the Jubilee brings and walk confidently in God's promise. So proclaim it and then embrace it and be confident in it. Amen. And then embrace restoration. Believe that God will restore what has been broken or taken from you, whether it's relationship, finances, or opportunities.

20:07 Trust that he will repay you for the years of hardship and fill your life with his abundant blessings. So how do we receive these Jubilee blessings in 2025? Remember, things are not automatic. God says that this is what I want to do, but put your ears up. You got to walk in faith and obedience. You have to trust and obey. That hasn't changed. Faith without works is dead, and God wants you to walk in faith and obedience. Be led, trust in his plans for you, that they are good, and he will lead you into a season of abundance and restoration.

20:49 Proclaim liberty. Speak freedom over every area of your life. So wake up in the morning, just begin to speak freedom. Declare that you are free from debt, fear, and any other form of bondage. Embrace the liberty that Jubilee brings, and walk confidently in God's promises. Embrace restoration. Believe that God will restore what he has lost, what has been lost or taken from you, whether relationship, finances, or opportunities. Trust that he will repay you for the years of hardship and fill your life with his abundant blessing. So God is a great payback, right?

21:33 2025, the year of divine surprises and jubilee blessings. So as we prepare for our hearts for 2025, let's remember that Jubilee is a time, extraordinary breakthrough, restoration, and unexpected blessings. Let us stand in faith, proclaim liberty, and embrace the fullness of God's promises. And I want to thank you for joining me on this segment.
