0:49 This is holy ground. In Jesus' name, amen. Family, this is Connie Morris, the host of the Diary of a Black Woman podcast. We're going to begin a new series titled Under the Church Chronicles. And when I bring it Under the Church Chronicles, you know we're going to talk about the church. And so I I want to personally invite you on this journey, a journey that may shake you, challenge you, and ultimately draw you closer to the heart of God. I want to let you know I will be taking a pause from the Heart Reset series just because of what the Lord whispered into my ears the other day.

1:29 He whispered to me two words. He just said, counterfeit church, counterfeit church. And from that whisper came this series, Removing the Cover, Exposing the Counterfeit Bride. God wants me to focus on things that are currently happening in the church. You know, first, he always corrects his bride before he corrects the nations. And so this series is going to be a serious journey on how God wants to bring you closer. So over the next 12 episodes, and plus I created a powerful bonus message, we will uncover how the bride of Christ has been deceived, corrupted, and exploited.

2:15 We will take the body of Christ and we will speak to it regarding this different body parts, how the head of the church has been replaced by man, how the eyes of the church has been blinded. The ears are itching for lies, the mouth preaching another gospel. The hands enslaved and the feet wandering and the heart growing cold and the false fire of worship without the Holy Spirit, the exploitation of the body, the counterfeit adornment and the urgent call for discernment. I know that was a mouthful, but we're going to break each one of these body parts down through each episode.

3:00 So that you will understand what God is saying to his church. And through every episode, the bridegroom voice thunders with the question, where is my bride? It is so, as I was writing this, that God is still calling out for his bride. And in the Song of Solomon, if you ever get a chance to read that, it's a love story. And it's similar to the bride as Solomon was finding out, chasing after her bride, after his bride, and the bride chasing after Solomon. It's such a love story. And so there's a section in the episode where it says, where is my bride?

3:42 God wants his bride to stand up and be noticed. So this isn't just another teaching. It's a heart-to-heart cry. You will hear the grief of God over the counterfeit, but also the hope of his call, a call for a bride who is pure, faithful, and ready. And in our bonus episode, we will close with a parable of the wise and the foolish virgins, alongside with Psalms 23 and 24. The oil that overflows, the clean hand and pure heart that prepares us for the midnight cry. God is going to prepare his church through these episodes to prepare for the Jesus return. We know he.

5:14 I had the series started, but now we're seeing God in action, how he is cleaning out his church. But here, when I bring out the title Church Chronicles, this is what we usually discuss. We discuss church trauma, church drama, and yes, we do it with a touch of class. So I don't make it gossipy. Keep it focused on the Lord because that's what it's all about. But today's episode carries a heavy weight because the Spirit of the Lord is pulling back the cover. Just last week, we watched the FBI raid churches that claim to be houses of God, but behind the walls, people were trafficked, manipulated, and enslaved.

6:00 Millions of dollars flowing, leaders living in luxury. While the vulnerable was exploited in the name of ministry. This is not just news. This is prophecy unfolding. The Bible tells us in Nahum 3.5 that God will lift the skirts and expose the shame of those who masquerade as holy. And that's what he's doing right now, removing the cover, showing us what's counterfeit. So as I prayed about this episode, one question kept burning in my spirit. The same question Jesus is asking his church today, where is my bride?

6:41 Can you hear him calling that out? Where is my bride? Not the polluted, not the faithless, not the sleeping, but the pure, the faithful, and the ready. So let's walk through this together because the church cannot continue to play games with God while lives are on the line. This is not exposure for shame's sake. This is exposure for healing, for cleansing, and for repentance. God is uncovering what the world has ignored because he's preparing his true bride for the return of the bridegroom. Now, let's just talk about what just happened. On August 27th, the FBI launched coordinated raids across multiple states, including Houston.

7:29 Tampa, Michigan, and Missouri, all tied to what's called the Kingdom of God Global Church, also known as Joshua Media Ministries. Its leaders, David Taylor and Michelle Brannan, were arrested on charges of forced labor, human trafficking, and money laundering. Seventeen people were rescued from a Houston property that had been converted into a call center. Millions of dollars were funneled into luxury lifestyles, while church members, who thought they were serving God, were working like slaves, isolated from their families, and even subjected to abuse.

8:12 And this isn't an isolated case. Just last month in July, federal agents raided a California home connected to Pastor Robert Shin, the man behind the Shekinah Church and 7 million TikTok cult exposed in a Netflix docusary. That investigation is still unfolding. With allegation of sex trafficking, coercive control, and financial abuse. So when I say God is pulling back the cover, I'm not speaking in metaphor. I'm telling you what we're watching playing out in real time. These raids are more than law enforcement actions. They're a mirror being held up to the church. And the question still rings in my spirit, where is my bride?

9:00 My bride is pure and not polluted. God is calling, where is my bride? If you think about a real life bride and the husbandman or the bridegroom calling her out, that's a heart of love. Where is my bride? That's the cry of the bridegroom. And it cuts through all of this church drama and deception. God is not looking for organizations that wear his name, but dishonor his covenant. He is not impressed by million-dollar buildings or ministries that exploit the vulnerable. The true bride of Christ is meant to be pure, not polluted. 2 Corinthians 6.17 says, Come out from among them and be separate, says the Lord.

9:46 Touch no unclean thing, and I will receive you. Purity isn't about appearances. It's about separation. It's about being set apart, holy, and untangled with corruption. But what did we see? People are trafficked in the name of ministry. Followers bound by manipulation. Convinced that endless labor was somehow godly honor. Leaders live in mansions while their members went without basic needs. Family, this is not purity. That's pollution wrapped in church clothes. And God says, I'm not married. I will not marry a counterfeit. I will not cover what is dishonorable.

10:31 This is why he's exposing it, because he loves his bride too much to leave her compromise. So let me ask you, church, are you living a pure life or are we polluted by greed, pride, and compromise? The bridegroom is coming and he's coming for a bride watch. Watch. Watched, sanctified, and ready, not one hiding corruption behind a cross. Where is my bride? The bride of Christ is called to be faithful, not flirtation. Faithful to her bridegroom, faithful to his word, faithful to his covenant. However, many churches today are compromising with the world. They wear the name of Jesus, but their loyalty is divided.

11:15 They bow to money. They chase power. They court politicians. They build kingdoms for themselves while claiming to build the kingdom of God. James 4 tells us, You adulterous people, don't you know that friendship with the world means enmity against God? Therefore, anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God? That's strong language, but it's the truth. When churches exploit the vulnerable for profit, that's spiritual adultery. When pastors demand loyalty to themselves instead of to Christ, that's betrayal of the bridegroom.

11:56 When we mix the holy with the unholy, we become a counterfeit bride. And as a family, the FBI raids we just witnessed are evidence of this. Leaders use the language of faith while building empires on the back of their members. They pretended devotion to Christ while being devoted to wealth. That's not faithfulness. That's flirtation with the world. But Christ's calling his true bride back, back to loyalty, back to the covenant, back to faithfulness that says, though no one go with me, still I will follow. So the question is, where is the bride who will be faithful?

12:38 Who will love him with all her heart? Oh, mind and body, with no divided loyalty. The question again is, where is my bride? My bride is ready, not sleeping. The bridegroom is coming back for a bride who is ready, not sleeping. Luke chapter 12, verse 37 says, blessed are those whose servants whom the master finds awake when he comes. That's the heart of readiness. It's about being alert, watchful, filled with oil and not just carrying a lamp with no substance. But too many churches today are asleep at the wheel, distracted by entertainment.

13:20 Seduced by personalities, numb by comfort. And while they slumber, wolves slipped in unnoticed and corruption grow unchecked. Family, that's exactly what we saw. Followers gave blinded loyalty to leaders, never testing the spirit, never asking the hard questions, never watching for fruit. They slept while manipulation stole their freedom, while abuse paraded as honor, while exportation was called ministry. And God is saying, wake up church, open your eyes. Don't let the counterfeit rock you to sleep. Don't let smooth words, big stages, empty promises keep you from discernment.

14:07 The true bride stays ready. Her lamp is trimmed. Her oil is full. Her ears are tuned to the cry. The bridegroom is coming. She lives alert knowing that Jesus could return at any minute. So I say unto you, are you awake or are you drifting? Will the bridegroom find you ready, or will you still be hitting the snooze button when the midnight cry rings out? The voice of the victims. We can't talk about these raids without talking about the people, because the headlines are real lives, real soul, and real pain.

14:47 17 people were removed from that Houston property. People who thought they were serving God. They were called armor bearers, but That, what they really meant was endless labor with no pay. They worked the phones in church call centers, pushed to raise millions of dollars while leaders lived in mansions and drove luxury cars. Some were cut off from their families. Others were forced into silence through fear and manipulation. Still others endured humiliation and abuse, all under the banner of honor and service. And if they resisted, they were shamed, cast aside, or threatened with spiritual curses.

15:31 This is not ministry. This is slavery dressed in church clothes. And I need to pause here because these are not faceless headlines. These are men and women with names, stories, and broken trust. They are searching for God, but instead were handed chains. Psalms 34, 18 says, The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. That's the God I know, the one who bends low to rescue the exploited, the one who heals the abuse and the batter, the one who says, where is my bride? We can't ignore their voices. We can't sweep their cries under the rug just because they were deceived inside of a church building. Their pain demands our prayers, our compassion, and our vigilance.

16:21 But if it happens there, it can happen anywhere. And the Bride of Christ must be the place where they're hurting, fine healings, not where they are broken even further. A charge to the church. Family, here's the hard truth. Trafficking, exportation don't survive in silence. They survive because too many people look the other way. So this is my charge to the church. Stop elevating men and women to the throne of Christ. No pastor, no prophet, no apostle deserves a seat that belongs to Jesus alone. When we worship personalities instead of the Savior, we open the door to deception.

17:02 Stop funding deception. If the gospel being preached is more about seed money than about salvation, more about the man in the pulpit than the man on the cross, it's time to walk away. God never called us to bankroll manipulation. Stop calling slavery honor. True service flows out of love, not out of fear, guilt, or exhaustion. Jesus says, freely you have received, freely give. Anything else is exportation, plain and simple. And to leaders who have tolerated, excused, or ignored this kind of corruption, repent. Repent before God strips away your platform and exposes your nakedness before the world. because he loves his bride too much to let her remain compromised.

17:52 This is the hour to return to sound doctrine, to compassion, to holiness, and to the centrality of Christ. Not lights, not stages, not manipulation, but the cross. God is still asking, where is my bride? Will he find her pure? Will he find her faithful? Will he find her ready? Let's pray. Father, we come before you today grieving. What has been exposed. We lift up every man, woman, and child who has been exploited in the name of ministry. Lord, heal their hearts. Restore their dignity. Remind them that you never abandoned them. You are close to the brokenhearted, and you saved those crushed in spirit.

18:38 We pray for justice to be done in the course of this nation, in the course of heaven. Expose every lie. Tear down every stronghold and silence every voice that manipulates your people. Purify your church, Lord. Make us a bride without spot, rink, or blemish, ready for your return. And now I speak this decree. I decree I will not be deceived by counterfeit. I deceive we will not be polluted, defrauded, or asleep. I decree we belong to Christ alone, pure, faithful, and ready. And we decree the true bride will rise even as the counterfeit falls in the mighty name of Jesus.

19:20 Family, this has been a sobering episode, but it's one that we couldn't ignore. God is removing the cover and he's asking, where is my bride? This is, as you go about this week, I challenge you, stay watchful, stay discerning and stay anchored in Christ. Don't be dazzled by titles, buildings, or stages. Test the fruit, hold fast to the word, and above all, keep your lamp full of oil, because the bridegroom is coming.
