Eyes Wide Open: Pt 2: Ep 1: Praying with Purpose: Unlocking Heaven's Language

We made it through Eyes Wide Open Part 1, where we confronted delay, dug into discernment, and birthed what God has placed in us. We also learned how to take care of what God has birthed in us, that new thing. But now we're in part two, where the Lord is sharpening our vision again, but this time through prayer. But before we begin, I just want to always just open up in prayer. Just give us the space that we can make it this holy space. Let's pray.

0:44 Father God, just like Jabez, we come before you. We pray with holy confidence. We ask you to bless us indeed, to enlarge our territory. We ask you to stretch us out of our comfort zone to expand our faith, our purpose, our capacity to influence, lead, and love let your hands be with us to guide us to every step we take I ask you to protect every listener tuning in today to keep us from evil, Lord God so that we may not sin against you let us not cause any pain but instead be vessels of healing and wholeness causing us to wherever you send us In Jesus' name, amen.

1:26 So let's get started on part two. I hope you're ready. I like to say this, and it says, because when we start sharpening our vision through prayer, and this kind of came up when I was praying, and it says, if you can't see right, you don't pray right. You know, so once you ever begin to pray in your holy language, and God began to show you visions or he gives you dreams, you begin to hunger and thirst for more. So if you haven't had a dream or vision, then just continue to pray in your holy language. And I guarantee you that you're going to see something.

2:10 But a lot of times we don't wait until we see something. So many of us are making decisions, building dreams and fighting battles with blurry vision, with blurry eyes. Not because we lack faith, but because we haven't been praying in the spirit or we don't pray long enough to get an answer. We need an answer like yesterday, but we pray suddenly. I need to know tomorrow, but God knew that was coming up like last before you even had that, before that even came up. And so that's what happens when we don't pray consistently. We kind of pray in a rush. And so we get blurry vision. Amen.

2:54 So what we're going to learn today on this journey, that it's not about eloquence, it's not about reputation, it's just about access. Accessing the language that confuses the enemy. Accessing alignment that silences fears. Accessing a revelation that reshapes how we see everything. This isn't a cute prayer. This is cry from the belly, wait till he speaks, don't move till he says, go prayer. So it's not one of those, like, I love that. It says it's not a prayer. You just pop into the prayer room and you pop out. This is one of those prayers that you're going to, it's called intercessions. So it's a prayer. You're going to cry from the belly prayer, wait until he speaks prayer and don't move until he says go prayer.

3:40 This kind that, this kind, that doesn't touch heaven, it opens heaven. How many want prayers that opens heaven? How many want prayers that open heaven? I see, yeah, that's what I'm talking about. It's time to pray until you see. So here we are. Welcome back to the Dyer of Black Women Devotional Series. I'm your host Connie Morris and today we're opening part two of our journey with episode one, The Power and Purpose of Praying in the Spirit.

4:31 You know, we started this in part one. A lot of times you still have questions. You can sense the questions like, why is that so important? I can't just pray in the natural and get it done. And how come you just can't pray in the spirit and get it done? You know, whenever people ask those questions, it's like ask the opposite question. Don't be disobedient. Just be obedient. We just already went through the games we play with God. And so we already know the game we play with God. How come I can't do it my way and it worked? Because God has a better way. So listen, listen to this. You will never see clearly if you don't pray correctly. So you can pray and God will answer your prayer. Yeah.

5:14 But don't you want to see? Don't you want to be a person with spiritual insight, spiritual vision? Some of us has been praying in circles, praying out of emotion, out of pain, out of patterns, but not in the spirit. And this is what the Lord wants you to know. Heaven gave you a language that hell can't interpret and it's time to use it. Heaven gave you a language that hell can't interpret, and it's time for you to use it. That's why you need to pray in the Spirit, because it's your heavenly language, and hell cannot interpret it.

5:59 And once you pray in your holy language and you find out that you have strategically avoided interpretation by the enemy, it's like taking your finger and you snap and you turn invisible when you pray. Isn't that some powerful stuff? That now Satan can't sit there and interpret your prayer and then go out there and just kind of violate you every kind of way and intercept. I'm going to say intercept you any kind of way. So let's walk through the scripture and see how you can become invisible.

6:39 Come on now, in your prayer life where hell cannot interpret your language. You know, how can you become invisible in the hell realm so that he can't bother you? He'd be like, what is he talking about? What, what, what? And see, and watching you walk in victory as he put out all these interceptions to try to defeat you. So let's walk in the word with our hearts wide open. Romans 8, 26 to 27. We cover these scriptures, but why not? Let's do it again. In the same way, the Spirit helps us with our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray, for the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans, and he who searches our heart knows the mind of the Spirit.

7:30 God already knows your limitation, but he made provision for them. This passage tells us that we don't always know what to pray. That's why when you're praying in your own language, your regular language is limiting. But when you pray in the Holy Spirit, it's unlimited language. But when we yield, the Holy Spirit intercedes on our behalf, on our behalf, not just with words, but with groans, utterances, and divine language. This isn't weakness. This is power. It's God saying, I'll pray through you when you can't pray for yourself. Come on now.

8:12 God wants us to be so successful. He says, when you are weak, I am strong. Let me pray for you when we pray in our holy language. Come on, people. Ephesians 6.18, 6.18 says, and pray in the spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayer and requests. With this in mind, be alert. Notice that Paul didn't say to pray sometimes in the spirit. He says on all occasions pray. This means in joy and in sorrow, in public and in private, in warfare and in peace. When you pray in the spirit, you pray, you stay spiritually alert.

Spiritual prayer will make you dangerous. But you, wow. How many want to be dangerous out there?

9:36 Yes, yes I want to be dangerous I don't want to just be hopeful I want to be dangerous. Jude 1.20 tells us, but you, dear friends, by building yourself up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit. Praying in the Spirit isn't just expressive, it's constructive. It builds you up from the inside. It fortifies your faith. It strengthens your resolve. It resets your atmosphere. Sometimes some of us are spiritually exhausted because we're praying from intellect when God calls us to pray from intimacy.

10:22 Oh, man, I don't want to drop my mic because it's brand new, but mic dropping the spirit. Some of us are spiritually exhausted because we pray from intellect when God is calling us to pray from intimacy. You don't build endurance with emotion. You build it by letting the Spirit take over. That's why you pray in the Spirit. That's why you pray in the Spirit. You don't pray from intellect. You pray from intimacy. Because it takes faith to pray from your holy language. It takes faith to believe that there's a God that can interpret what you just pray.

11:05 It takes faith to believe there is a heaven. It takes faith to believe there's a Holy Spirit that's helping you pray. Come on now. So you're praying in your Holy Spirit. You're praying in your holy language. And you're praying it all out. You don't know what's going on. But God is saying, this girl, I got you. It's not just expressive. It's constructive. It's building you up on the inside. It's fortifying your faith. It's strengthening your resolve. It's resetting the atmosphere. And is building intimacy with God. Whoa. Powerful. So let's make it plain. Emotion is loud, but it often lacks alignment.

11:47 Spirit is precise, even when it's quiet. We've shouted, cried, declared, and still felt empty. Why? Because it wasn't Spirit-led. The Holy Spirit doesn't just help you pray louder, It helps you pray on target. And when your prayer hits heaven's target, breakthrough gets released without delay. How many of you guys started being delayed? How many got prayers out there waiting in the spirit realm that needs a push from you, from the Holy Spirit? Amen. Amen. Spirit is precise. I'm going to say that again. We've shouted, we've cried, we've declared, and you still felt empty. Why?

12:35 Because it wasn't spirit-led. The Holy Spirit doesn't just help you pray louder. It helps you pray on target. I mean, you want to hit the target. And when your prayer hits the heaven's target, it gets released without delay. Oh, my God. How many times have you prayed in the Spirit? Right? Just pray in the Spirit. There was times I was praying in the Spirit for something for weeks, but nothing changed. But then one morning, I stopped begging and just said, Holy Spirit, take over. And I just begun to pray in the Spirit. I didn't know what I was saying, but I knew who was speaking.

13:16 Within hours, clarity came. Not just about the situation, but about me. Because praying in the Spirit doesn't just change your outcome. It changes your alignment. Just saying, Spirit, take over. Praying in the Spirit. Just praying in the Spirit. It gets your mind out the way. It gets your flesh out the way. It gets you out the way. And it lines you up with God's perfect will. It brings to me joy because you're no longer trying to control your life anymore. Yeah, you're involved because you're on this earth, but now you're not directing your own life. You're allowing the Spirit of God to direct your life.

14:00 So ask yourself, am I praying from my flesh or by the Spirit? Have I allowed doubt or pride to block the flow of tongues or intercession? And a lot of times we get the big head, right? We get the big head and I don't need to pray in the Spirit. I don't believe in all that. Well, then stay stuck. We talk about that already in the early episodes. You're going to just be stuck. Look, years go by and you're still the same. But then pray in the Holy Spirit and watch. Just as a baby grows differently every day, if you had a newborn baby, they look different almost every day. So will you begin to look different every day. And within a year, you'll be a totally different person. A year.

14:44 You'll probably be different within six months, but a year from the day you start praying, you'll notice that you are a different person. Write this in your journal. Holy Spirit, I give you my tongue, my mind, and my will. Teach me to pray from your heart, not my own. You can't get out of the way because he needs your tongue, your vocal cords. He needs you. You're the conduit from heaven to earth. So you can't say, Lord, I take over. No, no, no. He needs you to participate. It's not like a Holy Spirit takeover. It's you. He needs you to participate in this activity.

15:26 So it's not Holy Spirit take over. You say you get out the way, flesh, and you allow your mind to get out the way and begin to pray in your holy language. And then that's when the Spirit takes over. It's your participating in it. No one's taking over your mind, your emotion. You are still involved in this activity. You know so it's nothing super spiritual or super scary because you're still involved you're praying it's your vocal cords it's you who's praying so you need to be involved don't say and the spirit took over no no no he's not taking over he's a gentleman he needs your voice your vocal cords he needs you as a conduit from heaven to earth so it's nothing spooky nothing scary.

16:14 Let's decree. The decree for today is, I pray with heaven's voice, not just my own. I yield to the spirit. I receive divine strength, supernatural strategies, and the holy alignment. My prayers are spirit-filled and hell-proof. I am built up. I am locked in. I am aligned. Amen. Let's pray. Father, thank you for the gift of praying in the Spirit. I surrender my understanding. I release my need for control. I yield to the language of heaven. Teach me to press past my intellect into intimacy.

16:55 Let groanings be my breakthrough. That silence becomes strategy. That utterance flow without fear. I declare I will pray from the Spirit, with the Spirit, and by the Spirit. And I will see what I've been missing. In Jesus' name, amen. Sisters, sisters, if you feel ready, do you feel, can you feel it already, the shift? Father God, you declared, I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. So today we receive that truth. You said when we call on you, you will listen. So we pray. You say when we seek you with all our hearts, you will be found, so we pursue. You say that you will restore us from captivity, so we declare freedom over every place where our listeners feel stuck, silenced, or small.
