Eyes Wide Open Pt 2: Ep 3: Unleashing the Power of Your Holy Language

0:00 Hello, and welcome to the Diary of a Black Woman podcast devotional series. I'm excited about today's new episode. It's about receiving and growing in your prayer language. Today is going to be a special day for some, and maybe for many. Today will be the day that you will receive your prayer language. So let's just get started. I want to open up with the title, and then we're going to open up in prayer, and then we're going to get going. I'm excited for you guys today. Okay, so this is Episode 3, Receiving and Growing in Your Prayer Language.

0:40 I'm your host, Connie Morris. This is a part, Episode 3 of our Eyes Wide Open series, Part 2. And it's that day. I'm just too excited. I can't even get going. So let me pray, and then let's get going into the teaching. And get you ready to receive your holy language. I think you're ready for it. Father, I just want to come before you today from our story of Jabez. I come to you not timid, but with holy confidence. We ask you to bless us indeed, to enlarge our territory, to let your hands be upon us, to keep us from evil. Let us not be those that cause pain, but be vessels of healing and wholeness wherever you send us. In Jesus' name, amen.

1:30 So let's get going. Today is a day that many will receive their holy prayer language. How many are excited out there? Hallelujah. So let's set the foundation. It's the last episode of this series. I can make these series go on and on, but I think I wanted to end this one with you receiving your holy language. I set you up for success. I didn't want to give you your holy language in the beginning, but you already have it and you've been practicing that. It's perfect. If you were like, what is that? I'm ready for it. I'm ready. You have to be in that expectancy to go ahead and receive it.

2:12 And I think many of you are ready. So let's get going here. So let's talk about it. We already talked about it. So let's receive our language. Let's learn a little bit more before I walk you through that process, okay? Okay, so receiving and growing in your prayer language. Your prayer language is not about performance. It's about power, intimacy, and alignment with heaven. I want you to focus on that because this is so powerful. It's about power, intimacy, and alignment with heaven. Many of you will receive your prayer language and you may not like the way it's sound because you're comparing it with others. It's not about that right now. It's about you having a strategic plan.

2:55 Voice, a heavenly language that can not be heard from hell, that can talk directly to heaven, no matter what it sounds like. Okay. I want you to get that right first, that you have a strategic device. You got a weapon of mass destruction that you're going to be using to defeat the enemy. So I want you to know that right off the bat, that you might say, oh, my language sounds so, I don't even like it, but it's not about performance, not about how it sounds. It's about power, intimacy, and alignment with heaven. And I want to share with you right now, it just came back to me.

3:38 I remember being in Bible school, and honestly, I didn't really care about my holy language either, which is interesting that God made me talk about that today. And I wanted to sound, I don't know what I wanted to sound like, because I'm new to the whole school. You know, when you're new to the program, you always want the best. But when you're new and you're the last one, you get what's left. I'm just joking. But some people might come out praying powerful and can speak in unknown tongues and interpret it. And some of us sound like we're still talking baby language, right? But God says it's not about that. It's about power, intimacy, and alignment with heaven. And if those things are all what you focus on, you're going to find out that no matter what your prayer language sound like, you're going to have some power.

4:26 So I remember praying in my holy language in Bible school. We had to pray. We prayed a lot in our holy language in Bible school. And if you're in a church, the Holy Ghost filled church, you too will begin to pray a lot in your holy language in public and in prayer sessions. It's just something that happens in those type of environments. And so one particular person stood next to me, and this person didn't like the way my prayer language sound. But that person didn't realize that I've been praying in my holy language for about 20 years, you know? And so it really didn't really matter if they had agreed or disagreed with that person because sometimes people will make statements, which is from the enemy, to make you feel insecure or intimidated.

5:12 But if it's about you sounding like somebody else, yeah, you might feel that way. You might be intimidated or fearful or comparing it to others. And then you're going to miss out. And so I remember when that person said something to me, I was like, well, you better talk to God about it. And I just kind of walked away. And everybody said, ooh. And it wasn't even about that because I had, my prayer language was intimacy with God. And that person didn't know me. he just that person wanted to just be negative and wanted to say something just to be seen by others and be and make me feel like I wasn't worthy to be there you know because maybe that person was threatened I don't know what that person issue was but what I was like I don't care what how I sound or how it sound to you it sounded good to the heavenly realm because it got me here in the same space that you were right and so what's your what's the deal and so a lot of times people who are insecure would make it sound like your language is not as good as theirs, but they don't realize that you're in the same spaces that they are in.

6:17 So don't allow your language when you first hear it to become something of comparison of others. Let it be your language. It's what God has given you and it will change over time. Amen. And if it doesn't change, it's still your language, heavenly language to God. And it's about power, intimacy, and alignment. If you keep that in your forefront, if you write that down, then you won't end up silencing your language because you're afraid of what it sounds like to others. Amen? So let's get going. So let's get into the Word of God and what it sounds like. What is praying in the Spirit supposed to be like?

6:58 Let's go deeper in the Word and break it down line by line. 1 Corinthians 14.2, We heard that before. It should be a familiar scripture with you. It's for anyone who speaks in a tongue does not speak to people, but to God. Indeed, no one understands them. They utter mysteries by the spirit. Come on now. So someone says they don't like your language. They can't you interpret it though? Because I need you to interpret it because I haven't quite got that far. If they can't interpret it, then they need to shut up. Hello. They need to just get out your face and stop messing with you because God can interpret and he's been interpreted to me. So you're just kind of being like, you're working on the wrong team. Hold on a second.

7:40 I want to get a little water. So this isn't about impressing others. When you pray in tongues, you're speaking mysteries directly to God, not to man. So I don't like the way you sound. I'm not talking to you. This is not about you. I'm talking to God. So when I said, go talk to God about it, he didn't know what to, I said a person, that person didn't know what to do. Directly is speaking directly to God, spirit to spirit. Your flesh may not understand your spirit is releasing what is hidden and divine. You're not praying out of logic. You're praying in alignment with heaven's wisdom. Come on now. You're speaking mysteries directly to God, spirit to spirit.

8:25 You're praying in alignment with heaven's wisdom. So no matter what it sounds like to the person next to you, we're not talking to you. We're talking to God. How bold can that be? Amen. When you're speaking in tongues, you stop explaining yourself. When you speak in tongues, you stop explaining yourself to people. Did I just say that? You start communing with God at a deeper level. So you're no longer worrying about what people say, what they do, whatever going on around you. You are now communing with your heavenly Father. How good is that?

9:06 And so when you're praying in the Spirit, you don't got to pray out in the whisper because you're afraid of what you sound like. You pray bold because you're not talking to the person next to you. You're talking to God. You're praying spirit to spirit. You're praying in alignment with heaven. You're speaking and community with God at a deeper level. Let's keep going. Acts 2.4, all of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them. The early church didn't go to school to learn tongues. They received the infilling and tongues were the overflow.

9:46 It was not planned. It was Spirit-enabled. So remember in the upper room when the disciples were filled. They were all disciples or filled with the holy language. They weren't at school that day. They were told to meet in the upper room And that's where they met. And it was spirit-enabled. So the Spirit filled them with the Spirit. Tongues are not weird. They are evidence. They are evidence that the Spirit has filled the house and the heart. So that's the evidence. It's the Bible evidence that you are filled with the Holy Spirit.

10:26 And notice it says all of them were filled. That means it's for you too. It didn't have any prerequisite. It does have one prerequisite. You have to believe in Jesus. That's the prerequisite. And then you will be filled. I love that. It said the early church didn't go to school to learn tongue. They received the infilling of tongues where the overflow. It was not planned. It was spirit enabled. Tongues were not weird. They are evidence, evidence that the Spirit has filled the house. What house? Your house, your natural physical house. And notice that they all was filled with the Holy Ghost.

11:09 Let's go to Luke 11, 13. It says, if you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask? So if you ask for this feeling of the Holy Spirit, He will give it to you. It's your day. God is not stingy. He's not hiding the gifts of tongues from you. He's not waiting for your yes. Just like a good parent wants to bless his children, your Heavenly Father wants to fill you freely, fully, and faithfully.

11:53 You don't have to earn this. You don't have to qualify for this. You have to ask. And a believer and believe he wants to answer. Isn't that powerful? You don't have to go earn it. You don't have to tarry for it. You don't have to qualify for it. You just have to ask and believe that he wants to answer. And that's all it is. That's why I love the Jabez prayer. Jabez is kind of out of the blue, ask God for something. And God just out of the blue, just answered his prayer. And so when you pray and you believe that God hears and answers your prayer, you are in for a divine surprise.

12:34 Real talk here. Let me tell you the truth. I didn't receive my prayer language instantly. So, you know, I received my prayer language. It was a class we took at the church. It was your membership class. After you took membership, they asked you to stay after you want to be filled with the Holy Spirit. And I wanted to be filled with the Holy Spirit. But, you know, you get all in your head. You do. You're like, how am I going to be filled with the Holy Spirit? So I was nervous and everything. And so I took the prayer. The pastor, he laid his hands on me, and he started asking me to pray. And, you know, my mind was like, how am I going to be filled with the Holy Spirit? So I remember leaving, like, dang, it didn't happen.

13:16 And then I get in my car and didn't have no music on. And as I was going, as I was driving away from the church and on my way home, I was filled. I was probably always filled at the church, but I began to speak in my holy language. It happened instantly at the church, but something about that fear and you trying to figure it out with your head, it didn't work for me, right? I was nervous, you know, I was afraid and thought I might've messed up. You can't mess up the Holy Ghost. Come on now. You can't mess it up. And then I began to pray in my holy language. And I prayed in my holy language all the way home. And then I got to church the next day because it was a Saturday.

13:59 And he said, Connie, did you get filled? And I was like, yep, it happened on my way home. He said, I knew you were filled. You were just nervous. So when you get filled today, remember, don't let your mind play tricks on you. Once you say the prayer and when you ask and you believe, it's immediately done. So let's get going. Let's give you a little bit more. Ask yourself, have I asked to be filled? Ask the Holy Spirit to fill me. If you haven't, it's going to be your day today. And am I open to receive something that I never fully understood? Hopefully with the last four or five teachings, that you now understand the power of the Holy Spirit.

14:44 And today will be your day to receive it. Write this in your journal. Holy Spirit, I want all that you have for me. Remove fear and let my tongues flow in freedom. So just ask them to remove that fear. There's nothing to be afraid of. It's just as you speak in your language, you can speak in the Holy Spirit. All right, let's just go through a couple more scriptures and then I'm going to walk you right into being filled with the Holy Spirit. Number one, the Holy Spirit is for believers right now. Acts 2, 38-39 says, If you receive, you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

15:28 The promise is for you. So if you believe in Jesus Christ, you are qualified to receive the Holy Spirit. You don't need a title. You don't need a stage. You just need faith. So you have to believe in Jesus Christ. And that's John 3, 16, right? So John 3, 16, believe that he died for you. And yet he is alive right now. He forgave all your sins. That's all it takes. You don't have to wait. You can be filled immediately. Acts 10, 44, while Peter was still speaking, the Holy Spirit came on all who heard the message. They didn't tarry for weeks. They heard the word, believed it, and the Spirit came. That means you can be filled right now.

16:16 You must speak, you must use your voice, speak in your heavy language. A lot of times people think that you're going to be filled and then the voice is going to speak through you. No, the voice is your voice. It's your voice that's going to pray. It's your voice that you're going to hear. It's your tongues that's going to be used. Nobody else's. And so this is not a time to be quiet. When the Holy Ghost fills you, you yield your tongue and you speak. Not in English, not in rehearsed church phrases, but in your heavenly language. And yes, it may sound like babble at first. It may feel like baby talk, but don't stop.

16:59 This is your spirit speaking directly to God. Just like the child learns to talk by making sounds first, you're stepping into divine language by faith. It's not fake, it's faith. and over time, it will grow deep, grow, deepen, and flow. So remember, it might sound like baby babble, but as you begin to put more voice to that sound, you'll begin to get your language. So like I said, it might, it's like a baby starts to say da-da, da-da, da-da, da-da. It might sound da-da, da-da, da-da, da-da. And then pretty soon, it'll start to formulate words.

17:42 Da-da, da-da, da-da. Then you start finding that you have a language. Then you begin to pray in your holy language. Just like the child learns to talk by making sounds. So you're going to say sounds. Don't let anything come out but just your holy language. Don't think about it just, yeah, I told you my first experience. Yeah. I just got into my head. And then once I stopped, I got out. I said, no, no, no, no, no. I want to be filled with the Holy Ghost. I want to be filled with the Holy Ghost. Lord, speak to me. Lord, speak to me. And I began to speak in my holy language.

18:26 And I started crying and weeping because that's what I want. I want everything that God has for me. Romans 8.26 says, The Spirit Himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. This isn't about sounding polished. It's about surrender, surrendering your voice for God's voice. Isn't that powerful? You're not performing. You're releasing the sound of heaven. So when you're praying in your holy language, you are releasing the sound of heaven. Speaking in tongues is evidence, not experience, right? And so remember, that's evidence that you are filled.

19:07 Mark 16, verse 17 says, they will speak in new tongues. Tongues is the evidence, but the experience is deeper, is peace, is power, is boldness. But you start by speaking by faith. Everything in the Bible is done by faith. Everything is done by faith. And so when you start to try to figure it out in your head, it gets nothing. And that really helped me understand faith. When you're trying to figure it out in your head, it's nothing. But when you allow the faith, your faith to say, I want to be filled with the Holy Spirit, then you will be filled with the Holy Spirit. So are you ready?

19:52 This is your day. This is your day. So if you believe in Jesus Christ, you are ready. And so let's make sure that you have that. Okay. Say, Father, I believe in Jesus Christ. I believe He died for me. I believe that He forgave all my sins. I believe He's alive right now. I believe He saved me. He delivered me. And I also believe that He will fill me with His Holy Spirit. Ready? Repeat after me. Holy Spirit, I receive you. I welcome you. Fill me now. I yield my tongue.

20:35 I release my heavenly language. I'm not afraid. I don't doubt. I speak by faith. I am filled. I am sealed. I am empowered. In Jesus' name, amen. Don't say a word. Now when you open your mouth, begin to pray in your holy language. Continue to pray in your holy language Yes, whatever sound arises, release it It may sound like babble, like baby talk But it's holy talk You're not faking it, you're activating it Allow the river of that language to flow, Amen Amen. Amen.

21:29 You have received the gift of your holy language. Let's declare and decree it. It says, I receive the gift of tongues. I will not fear what heaven has freely given me. I open my mouth with boldness. My prayer life is expanding. My spirit is rising. My language is changing. Let's close out with prayer here. Father, you, thank you for the gift of tongues. Today I ask you to fill me in again. Fill my mouth, fill my spirit, and let the language of heaven rise in me.

22:10 I silence fear. I release control. I yield. I open my mouth by faith. I expect to flow. I thank you for this divine gift. I receive it by grace in Jesus' name. How powerful is this day that you have received the infilling of the Holy Spirit. This is the perfect moment to go into your prayer closet and to continue to pray in your holy language. Amen. As we close out, I want to close out with the promise of Jeremiah 29, 11.

22:53 And Father God, you declare, I know the plans I have for you, plans to promise you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. So today we received that truth, the truth of the Holy Spirit to pray through us, your perfect will and your perfect plan. So you say that when we call on you, you will listen. So we pray. We even pray in our holy language. You say that when we seek you with all our hearts, that you will be found. So we pursue you, O Lord. You say that you will restore us from our captivity. So we declare freedom over every place where we have felt stuck, silenced, or small.
