"Eyes Wide Open Pt 2: Ep 4: The Watchers and Their Divine Assignment"

You are armed and ready. I don't know, I felt like these episodes were like training episodes. That's what I felt in the spirit that you guys are ready, ready, ready, trained. And so you're all ready to go. So let's get started on Eyes Wide Open Part 2, Episode 4. This actually is the last episode of this series.

I'm your host, Connie Morris. And today we're going to talk about a prophetic assignment that's often overlooked, but deeply powerful. It's the watchers, eyes that see what others overlook. And so I'll get more into that after we open in prayer. What a powerful assignment that you have been given since you are now filled with the Holy Ghost. But actually given an assignment, I think it seemed like for this, these last episodes, I've been talking a lot.

And I feel like this last episode is going to really charge you up to actually begin to pray in the spirit more and get you ready for what's coming for our next series. I won't tell you via surprise because I don't know. I got to pray through. I got 241 devotionals. I don't know where God's going to lead me, but let's pray. Hello and welcome to our podcast, and we're going to pray our opening prayer. Father God, just like Jabez, we come to you not timid, but with holy confidence.

Expand our faith, our purpose, our capacity to influence, to lead, and love. Let your hand be upon us. Guide every step we take, protecting every listener. Tuning in today, O Lord, keep us from evil within us. Keep us and around us. And let us not cause any pain, but instead be vessels of healing and wholeness wherever you send us. 2:46 So let's get going with this new episode, our final episode of this series. The Watcher's Eyes That See What Others Ignore. Wow, this isn't about the platform. This is about, once again, the posture, because God is raising up women who aren't just gifted, but they are watching. They have their eyes wide open. Eyes wide open is eyes wide open in the spirit so they can see what God is doing. So what does it mean to be a watcher? So let's anchor in three powerful passages. Let's go to Ezekiel 37, verse 7.

3:29 Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the people of Israel. So hear the word I speak and give them warning for me. Sometimes I feel like a watcher. A watcher isn't a gossip, a gossiper. It's not a watcher isn't a gossiper. A watcher isn't just a dreamer. A watcher is someone with spiritual eyes who sees before and speaks with wisdom. How powerful is that? A watcher isn't a gossiper. It isn't just a dreamer. A watcher is someone with spiritual eyes who sees before and speaks with wisdom. They see a before.

4:13 God told Ezekiel, I made you a watchman. I didn't make you a man, not your title. God placed you in a position of insight. But here's a part we often miss. Being a watcher means being responsible. You don't just see it, you must steward it. So we covered that part about how to steward what you birth. So I'm not going to go over that process. But when you see it and you birth it out, you have to be responsible and steward it. You know, it's like being a security guard. If they hire you to be a security guard or a police officer, you're not going to just always run and call for backup. What is your job to do?

4:59 Maybe you're first in call for backup. up, what can you do to maintain that security, that security post? Habakkuk 2.1 says, I will stand at my watch and station myself on the ramparts. I will look to see what he will say to me. So as you are praying in the spirit, you will begin to see things that you probably thought you would never see or be exposed to because you're in the spirit. And so as a watchman in the spirit, some of those things are going to need to be stewarded. That means that you won't be able to go run and tell your friend because they won't understand it because it's not for them. It's spiritual. Maybe your pastor, if you're an intercessory group, maybe that group and pray it through.

5:44 But we see here in Habakkuk, he said, I will stand at my watch and station myself at the raparist. So a lot of times as we pray in the spirit, we'll get information for us, but we'll also get information about other things. So watchers wait. They don't rush to speak. They don't post every vision or share every warning. They station themselves and. They get still and they expect God to speak and they don't move until he does. So as you get spirit to spirit, God will begin to trust you with his secret. And so some things are not going to be public information. It's just between you and God and that timely who you share it with and God will tell you who to share it with.

6:33 And so you have to be careful as you get deeper in the spirit. And you'd be like, well, I need to share that. A lot of times people get a revelation and they want to, I'm going to go live with this. And God might not have told you to go live with that. And so you have to be very, very careful as you begin to pray in the spirit. You start to see things and you might want to think that it's time to make it a podcast or a book, but you need to continue to pray. Remember, pray until you know. Pray until he tells you to go. Pray until he tells you to speak. Otherwise, remain silent and just keep journaling. Something may be just for you. Some things may be for a special time, special place, special season.

7:18 And so that's what it meant by being a steward. Here it says that watchers is someone with spiritual eyes. So you have spiritual eyes. But here where we miss it, being a watcher means being responsible. I remember saying that. But watchers wait. They don't rush to speak. They don't post every vision or share every warning. They station themselves. They get still and they expect God to speak and they don't move until he does. We understand that. But when he does move and he does speak, you still wait until he tells you when to share that information. Okay. You don't just go out because you've got a revelation. You go share it.

8:00 Lately, I've been getting a lot of dreams and stuff. A lot of it is for me, but then I'm finding out that he's sharing it and making that dream. It's now kind of three-dimensional, and so then he'll tell me who to share it with. And so you just have to be very, very careful. Remember, that dream is a baby first. Then you want to make sure it's protected. Let's go to Luke 2, verse 36 to 38. Anna, I don't know why. Okay, there was also a prophet, Anna. She never left the temple but worshiped night and day, fasting and praying.

8:42 She gave thanks to God and spoke about the child to all. So Anna was a prophet and her goal was to pray. And her goal was to pray for the Savior to come into the world. So that was her duty, to watch and pray. Sometimes as a watcher and as you get closer to God, as you're praying, we talked about all the great things that God's going to show you and do through you. But sometimes that watching part can get, it can be boring. It's exciting because you're seeing things, but you can't share with anyone. You see what I'm saying? So it becomes you waiting until the time, and then it gets exciting.

9:22 Then you go back and you pray and then you wait because God is very organized in his storytelling and his timing. And so as you pray in the spirit, but it's exciting. It can say it gets boring. If you're one who always have the big mouth that always have to run and tell everything that you know, you might not like this part. But if you want that love to have communion with God and it's not about trying to have a podcast or be someone like want to be you know you know I'm saying you're not trying to make it I told you if you allow the baby to grow God will will grow what he needs to grow in you and then who knows you'll be whatever he's called you to be and it might be big on a platform I don't know what he's going to do for you. I don't know what is planned for you.

10:11 But in the position of a watcher, Anna waited for years and years until baby Jesus was born. Anna was a watcher. She stayed in position for decades, watching, praying, fasting, and listening. And when the Messiah came, she recognized him before the crowd did. That's powerful. She wasn't famous. She was faithful. If you're looking to be famous, you're going to be really disappointed. God is not into fame. He's into faithfulness, into your faithfulness. If you can be faithful with the least, he can reward you with the must, reward you with much.

10:55 He also rewarder those who diligently seek you. But if you're looking to be famous, I always think famous is so temporary. You know, because who was famous last year ain't famous today. So I never looked to be famous because famous to me seemed like temporary. I'm looking for a longtime job with the Lord. How about that, you guys? Right. And so we see Anna, she wasn't famous. But to me, in my eyes, she made it to the Bible. So even though in her eyes, she wasn't famous, in my eyes, she made it to the Bible. She did something that God thought had to be listed in the Bible. She never left the temple but worshiped day and night, fasting prayer.

11:38 That was her assignment. And then when Jesus came, she was able to recognize him. A lot of things are happening in this world. A lot of things are changing in this world. And yet sometimes we can't even, not we, sometimes people can't recognize a lie from a truth, a male from a female. because they're not praying. They're not watching. They're too busy trying to be famous. God asks us to be faithful. So what does it mean to be a watcher? A watcher don't just react, they discern. Discernment comes from heaven, from praying in the Spirit.

12:23 Discernment is knowing by the Spirit what's good and what's bad. What is good and what's gooder? I mean, what is God's good, acceptable, and perfect will, right? How do you pick? You pick that because you discern. So you don't just always react. You discern. Watchers don't just shout. They intercede. Watchers don't just see, they warn, they war, they wait. I'm going to say it again. Watchers don't just react, they discern. Watchers don't just shout, they intercede.

13:07 Watchers don't just see, they warn, they war, and they wait. You know, I had moments where I knew something was off before anything happened. I couldn't explain it, but my spirit was stirred. And sure enough, what I sensed was real. That's the grace of a watcher's anointing. And if you've been sensing things others ignore, if you've been waking up burdened with people in your heart, if you've been getting dreams, vision, or nudges from the spirit, you're not crazy. You are a watcher. Wow. I'm going to read that again in case some out there is wondering like, why does this suddenly happen?

13:51 If you are a prayer and you're praying in the spirit and you're keeping your appointments with the Lord, it's going to give you more than you expect. So if your grace, if that's the grace of a watcher anointing, if you've been sensing things others ignore, if you've been waking up burdened with people on your heart, If you've been getting dreams, vision, or nudges from the Spirit, you're not crazy. You are a watcher. Let's just see. Let's just pause here and let's see, do some discernment here and see if you are a watcher. Am I willing to sit in silence to see what others miss? Sometimes you can be in a room. I think I know that I'm a watcher.

14:35 You can be in a room and things are going on and you just can see, you just notice some things that are off, people that are off, things that are being missed. Some people are too busy trying to be seen that they don't even get their own stuff right, you know, and you're just watching, you know. Have I honored the nudges and promptings from God? I can say yes. Yes. I don't know if I hit them all. usually I keep them written down and I share something like, you know, like I said, a other dream I had, I had to share it. I thought it was for me. And then the Lord said, I want you to share it with, with your, your leader.

15:16 And I said, okay. I said, and I told him, I said, I usually don't share my dreams, but the Lord prompted me to share this one. What was shown me that I'm dismissed or delayed, you know? And so you start to pay attention to more things and it starts really small, You know, God is such a teacher that don't ever feel that you're going to miss it because he has a rewind. He has a replay. And you go like, what was that? What was that? What was that? What was that? And he'll just replay. You know, you'll have a dream and you go like, I didn't get that dream. And you just kind of pray, Lord, what was that? He'll say, that was that. That was that. He'll just explain it to you. And because he wants to see if you're paying attention.

15:58 You know, and so that's powerful, right? I know. So I wanted to say this again. Have you had moments when something felt off? Have you felt the spirit stirring? Are you sensing things that others ignored? Are you getting dreams, vision, or nudges from the spirit? You're not crazy. You are a watcher. What has God shown me that I've dismissed or delayed? You know, hello, write this down. Lord, make me faithful in the secret place. Help me to stay on the wall even if no one sees me watching.

16:38 A lot of times it's always good to be part of a, this is something that I see at the church a lot. Whatever's famous or whatever's, whatever everybody's doing, people want to be part of. If it's intercessory prayer, pretty soon the intercessory prayer room is packed. And then if you're not there, they go, Connie, I don't see you at intercessory prayer. Well, you don't know what I'm doing. I'm just not at that intercessory prayer, right? You see what I'm saying? So I never want to be with the group. Forced to be with some groups, but I don't ever want to be indifferent in the groups. And so, Lord, make me faithful in the secret place.

17:19 Help me to stay on the wall, even if no one sees me watching. Help me to stay when no one is watching. That's the hard part. A lot of times we want to be seen, and if no one's watching, we won't do that duty. So help us to be in that secret place when no one's watching. I find it exciting to have prayer time with the Lord, and He gives me something. And what started out as one devotional kind of lead to 200-something devotional. Know, what started as one download is now over a thousand downloads. It's just like God will reward your faithfulness.

18:01 He will reward your faithfulness. So if you've sensed any of that, just know that you will start to sense those things. And if you haven't already, if you start to sense that, that's okay because you are a watcher. This is the decree for the day. It says, I am a watcher. My eyes are open. My spirit is alert. I guard with what God is birthing. I speak only what heaven reveals. I am not led by emotion. I am led by the Spirit. I'm going to say that again. I am a watcher.

Father, I thank you for entrusting me with seeing. Open my eyes even more. Sharpen my hearing. Make me steady. Make me bold. Keep me hidden if needed, but never distracted. Let me love the secret place. Let me honor what I see. Let me pray when others sleep.

19:23 Let me stand on the wall, faithful, fearless, and fully yours. In Jesus' name, amen. I want to, so this podcast has been, it's been great for me. This has been a great series. But this is like, seemed like it's more than just a podcast episode for this last five episodes. All of it is good, don't get me wrong. But this is an invitation to stay alert, to stay postured, to stay in position. God is raising up watchers, not to be loud, but to be effective. Not to chase platforms, but to protect promises. 20:47 I have trained your ears to hear what others ignore and your eyes succeed beyond the surface. You are not too sensitive. You are spiritually aware. You feel what others dismiss because I have placed a burden on you that cannot be shaken. In this season, I'm raising up watchers. Not watchers of the world, but watchers of my word. Watchers who weep in secret. Watchers who stand when others sleep. Watchers who do not need the crowd because they have my counsel. Stay on the wall, even when it's quiet, even when it's lonely, even when they laugh, scroll past, or forget your name.

21:34 Because what I whisper to you in the secret place will shift nations if you steward it well. Do not come down to explain what I've shown you. Stay postured, stay planted. For I'm giving you eyes like flint and discernment that cut through deception. You will see storms before they come. You will intercede for what others won't even recognize. And your prayers will be the hedge I use to protect and preserve. You are not hidden from me. You are hidden in me. And in this hour, I am making a clear distinction between those who perform and those who perceive.

22:15 Watch, listen, intercede, because you are not just a voice, you are a gatekeeper. And I have placed you in the Spirit for such a time as this. This episode moved you.
