Wall Must Fall: Day 5: Activating Faith: The Sound of Transformation"

0:49 This is holy ground. In Jesus' name, amen. Hello, and welcome back to Diary of a Black Woman Podcast. I'm your host, Connie Morris, and we are continuing our series of The Walls Must Fall. We are on day five. Sound the trumpets. Activate your faith with a sound. Wow. We're going to start with our foundational scripture found in Joshua 6, verse 13 from the King James Version. And it reads, then the seven priests bearing the seven trumpets of ram's horn before the ark of the Lord went on continually and blew with the trumpets.

1:34 I love this because it says here, sound the trumpets. Activate your faith with a sound. And you know that the Israelites could not speak a word. They had to remain silent. And so we spoke in day four about carrying the presence of the Lord. But also now in day five, we're seeing that the presence of the Lord doesn't go anywhere quiet. He needs the trumpets to bear. And the seven priests, you don't think they were wearing blue jeans and a t-shirt. They were dressed for war trumpets are war sounds even though it was silent it was still a war going on they were in a battle but this was a different type of battle that the israelites never fought in before they used to you they wore you in swords but now they're using those sounds and the trumpets and the presence of the Lord.

2:33 I love this because the Bible tells us that the Lord will fight for us and all we have to do is stand still. He said that to Moses. And so we see here that the priest, seven trumpets of ram horns went before the ark of the Lord and they just blew and they blew and they blew and they blew and they blew as a sound of warring trumpets as they carry the presence of the Lord around Jericho. So as Israel marched, the priests blew the trumpets, not once, but continually. Think about how loud that can be. Like, whoa, what are they up to?

3:14 I haven't heard any talk. All I heard was trumpets and they're carrying this ark around. Like, what is going on? You know, they were looking over the wall like, what are they doing? We've never seen it done like this before. And I want to pause here because many times God will do something in your life that he. You have not seen before. That when you go tell your friends, they say, oh, he never done that for me before, right? He's doing a new thing. And so we have to be aware what that new thing is in your life. Like for me, I shared with you in the circling the promise episode that God had me walking in a new neighborhood.

3:55 I mean, I would walk on one side of the neighborhood and I saw a few of the homes, but then he said, I want you to venture into the block, go into the neighborhood, go into the neighborhood, like go, go a new route. And that increased my, my walking to three miles in the morning. Go into the neighborhood. And I was like, what? And like I shared with you, my first time in the neighborhood, I was a little bit nervous, right? You know, I'm walking in the new neighborhood like we should be, you know, and walking on the sidewalk, almost slipped in some mud. Cause I'm looking at the houses, the mud was slippery. The second time I slipped in a puddle. I mean, think about how nervous you are walking in a new neighborhood now because you don't know the cracks in the crevices, right?

4:38 But think what God is saying here in Joshua 6, 13. He says, activate your faith with a sound. As Israel marched to priests, blew the trumpet, not once, but continually. This wasn't just noise. It was prophetic sound. The trumpet, the shofar, was used to declare war, announce victory, and to signal movement in the camp. It was a sound of faith that said, something is about to shift. My God, something in our lives, because of this consecration and dedication, the walls must fall.

5:19 Something in our lives is about to shift. Do you believe that? Because we have consecrated, because we have dedicated, like I shared some testimonies already something in our life is about to shift. And you know, we have to have an expectation that when God puts us on assignment, that he's not just having us do something for the sake of doing something, that he has something in our lives that he wants to change, that he wants to shift. Amen. So even though the walls hasn't moved, right? Nothing's moving. The sound still went forth. Even though they were still walking in circles, faith was still making a noise.

6:05 When I walk the block, I'm still praying. When I'm walking the block, I'm still like, Lord, this is so beautiful. Lord, thank you for sharing me what you see. Lord, oh, I'm not going to even try to see how this is going to happen in my strength because it was your idea that had me to walk this block. Just like they were probably saying, okay, what is the Lord up to? Because we're looking at this wall. I mean, it's not a little wall. It's not like a fence. They're not walking around a fence. They're walking around a wall. When they built a wall in those days, it was fortified that they could act. It was so fortified, you can have horses ride on top of it.

6:46 And so that's how strong this wall was, right? So they were getting kind of stirred up about their faith. Now the horns is going, the ark is before them, they're silent. So their faith is built up. You know, their faith is built up. Their faith was making some noise. The trumpet is what you release while you're still believing. We always want to find, I shared a little bit in the last episode, but I want to share now. Find you some new worship music. Sing worship songs to God without any music. Make up songs. Praises and worship songs. Just make some noise. Why?

7:26 Because that's your faith at work. What's your favorite scripture? Some people who really can sing, they can take a song, a psalm out of the book and just sing to it. Find your favorite psalm, your favorite scripture, and add some beats to it. You can do that so easy these days. You can add it to maybe add it to chat GPT and say, and make some beats to this, and boom, you got you a song, and now you can sing it. I think there's a guy, it's called Ari, I think his name is, and he has this little system wrapped around him where he says, give me a beat, and he'll hook up a beat, and then he's just so powerful. So different than what you used to sing.

8:08 He got his little music, a mic, and he just starts singing and walking down the street. I mean, just a very different type of musician, which is so powerful. and that's his thing. God told him to walk and he's doing his thing. What has God told you to do? Today, your trumpet may be worship. It may be a declaration. We always decree it. It may be a scripture shouted in the face of fear. It may be scripture that you read out loud before you go to bed, but it's not. Don't let silence become passivity. This is your moment to sound your faith. When the trumpet sounds, the spirit world takes notice.

8:49 Hell knows you're coming. The wall fills the tremble and heaven leans in. Let's pray. Lord, teach us how to release the sound of faith. Let my words carry power. Let my worship push back darkness. Even if I don't feel it, I will declare what you have spoken. I release a sound that says, I believe you before I see it. And I want to just, let's go over some decrees here. Oh my gosh. I believe it before I see it. I decree that my sound is activating heaven. My worship is warfare. My sound, my voice is a trumpet of victory and I will not be silent.

9:31 I declare the promises of God over my life with boldness and faith. Joel 2.1 reads, blow the trumpet in Zion, sound the alarm on my holy hill. The Lord loves trumpet. It introduces him, right? We know when Jesus comes through the clouds, it will be a sound of a trumpet that will introduce him. Hello? Let's go. Our fasting focus is in addition to our food fast. Today, make a point to fast from fearful or neutral speech. Sometimes in our life. Remember our parents always tell us that if we have nothing good to say, don't say nothing at all.

10:15 But I want to double dare you that when you have nothing good to say, pick up a decree, pick up your word of God, and begin to speak the word of God, your favorite scripture. Just challenge yourself to speak it out loud, to read it out loud. Read your favorite Bible story out loud and find something new in it that you haven't heard. Because sometimes it's different when you read it out loud than when you read it to yourself. You know, find a way to even preach it to yourself. Put yourself in that Bible character's position. How would you respond, right? But remember, blow the trumpet in Zion.

10:58 Sound the alarm of my holy hill. The Lord says, sound the alarm. When we sound the alarm, it tells us that he is coming. But I love this part. It says something is about to shift. Are you ready for the shift? I am ready for the shift. So as we prepare for our journal prompts, what is one area where you've been silent when you should have been speaking God's word? And point two is, what scripture or promise can I start declaring boldly over my situation? And get excited because God is doing a new thing.

11:38 And when he says something is about to shift, my pastor preached on a topic and it was titled Shift. He even had a prophecy on shift change. That means when God is getting ready to shift change, and I just found it, and shift change, obedience, disobedience, and the consequences of choice. Wow, God wants to shift change. Change? What does that mean to you when you hear that word? If you ever work a job where there's shifts, I work like an eight to five or eight to four, eight to three, eight to two, whatever I get done, there's no other shift that comes after me.

12:22 But sometimes we have a shift that maybe seven to three, three to 11, 11 to seven, and there's a shift change. What happens during a shift change, right? And that can really be something that you can meditate on. I probably won't have time for this episode. I want to keep this one short and sweet because it says enough already and I don't want to add more to it. I just want you to focus on the shift change and the trumpets that activate your faith, the sound. How are you activating your faith today? Is it in And whine, that's not an activation. That's a deactivation. But that's a good one. But how are you activating your faith today?
